The Bon Viveur has now finally closed its doors. Maurizio and Enzo have decided to retire, ending almost 30 years of restaurant and guest house. We used to stay there some years ago, when the restaurant was very popular with tourists and locals alike.

The room was OK - clean enough and had everything we needed. Quite liked the rabbit-warren nature of the place and the situation overlooking the harbour was lovely. Reasonable choice of breakfast foods and portions adequate - we certainly didn't leave hungry. However, one big drawback was the lack of dedicated parking. From 5pm to 8am parking outside was free;... More

Had a lovely meal. I highly recommend the hot Avocado followed by the veal limonene. Take no notice that the restaurant looks like it has just been whitewashed. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Had a couple of drinks outside before deciding whether to book a table. I'm glad we did as the owner was so enamored with himself it was embarrassing. Can't comment on the food as he was so rude we simply left.

On passing the food looked good so we returned later for lunch. We sat outside and had a good view of the small harbour. The staff were slightly abrupt in manner and seemed to hover which was slightly unsettling. We were presented with the snack menu and had to requested the fish menu as it was the fish I saw... More

Enjoyed scallops and Jersey plaice cooked on the bone with Jersey royals at this well established small harbour side restaurant. The staff were friendly and service efficient. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an outside table was a lovely day and we had been recommended to eat at this restaurant . We felt the meal was just average and the waiters were like policemen watching you all the time. Not a relaxed or special meal sorry!

Went twice this week. Once for lunchtime cocktails and then returned for an evening meal. The menu is very well priced for the location and really quite extensive. I ate from the specials menu which was very impressive. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the view of the harbour is stunning.
