We stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. We arrived on Friday evening checked in and grabbed a table in the restaurant. We ordered appetizers and some drinks and listened to the local musician. In the morning the owner Mike took us 10 miles up river and dropped us off with a tandem kayak. That stretch of river is beautiful and not very crowded, we enjoyed the peaceful environment so much we didn’t even turn our music on. The end of the trip is a landing a short distance from the hotel, Mike had us leave our truck at the landing before taking us up river. We came back to our room cleaned up and enjoyed a steak at the restaurant. The next morning Mike recommended a hike to a panoramic vista overlooking the Tennessee river. The hotel was tastefully restored to a period correct form while adding modern amenities. We will definitely put this on our summer travel list

Spent three nights here while attending a family reunion nearby. This part of the world is not a big tourist destination, so decent hotels have traditionally been few and far between. The Commodore is much better than decent: it's a loving rehab of a historic property, with very friendly owners and staff. They took care of our large group with aplomb. Dinner was excellent (although restaurant hours are quite limited) and the Speakeasy was fun. Room was very large and comfortable. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near the area.

Alex sure was a pleasure to have as our host. A clean and quiet place to stay and we will definitely return if we are in the area. Would love to visit on a weekend to try out the "speakeasy" and possibly fish the Buffalo River.

Let me start off with the pros: the room was clean, comfortable and roomy. Which is what is most important for us. The lady at check in was nice, friendly and helpful. The cons: We were disappointed with our stay. Mostly because we thought this place would be a cool little place different from a hotel. We had seen a video on youtube and it looked like a cool little place. In their defense the place is probably a little more hopping on the weekend. We were there on a Tues. But there were at least 6 other guests in the place( about a 10 room inn). The restaurant was not open for dinner and the speakeasy wasnt really opened either. The guy in the evening ( i am not talking late between 6-7) told us he's not a bartender but i will make you a drink if it's easy. Which was fine. I said i see here that it is happy hour until 7. He said 'no, no happy hour with me' . Then he pours a shot after we had to help him find what drinks we drink and hands us a bowl of ice, a club soda can and bottle of water and walks out. He tells us he will be in the other room if we need anything. So I thought since we were the only ones in there and we had to make our own drinks that maybe it was on the house. Then my husband finds him and says he'd like another drink. So we both had another one. My husband said how do we pay for this? Can you charge to the room or credit card. He says he prefers cash and charged $32. Which isnt bad if I was in a regular bar and the bartender made it for me. So bottom line if you are looking for clean and comfortable this place is fine. If you are looking for an experience, try the weekend.

We slowed down out of Memphis for two nights at the Commodore Hotel & Café in Linden, Tenn. and biked the Natchez Trace Parkway (35 minutes east). Main Street Linden has 19th century sensibilities and the hotel and speakeasy, a boarding house feel. Yet what a delightful place with charming proprietors and friendly staff. Quiet, with a quaint daily list of Linden’s modest activities and places to eat (including the deli bar at the adjacent grocery) and an early hour to roll up the streets, we heartily recommend slowing down and taking in Linden and its Commodore Hotel & Café.

My husband & I stayed here in October 2020. The experience was wonderful. The rooms were immaculate, the old hotel charming, and management was great. They have a little cafe next door and the food was southern and fantastic. We happened to enjoy the live music as well, so a great little place. This time, I brought my 81 yr old Mom. Management was still accommodating (we needed a space-heater because my mom was very cold and they were not using heat yet), plus a lightbulb was out. I had called at the last minute to ask if there were any available rooms and they price was $145. I found a better rate on hotels.com for $99, but they were disappointed that I used that and said that rate was for upstairs. My mom could not manage the stairs, so they gave me a discount from their usual $145 to $125 for the downstairs room. I was uncomfortable that management showed their displeasure that we used hotels.com. All was well, UNTIL I finally went to bed (my mom was already asleep) and as I put my feet in the covers, there was GRIT or something under the sheets. Not exactly something you want to experience. Bits of hard black something. I got up and put on long pants and socks, so that whatever the heck it was, would not be crawling up my legs! ALSO, fingernail clippings on the nightstand (for real?). The room had not been swept or mopped and the nightstand was dusty enough to run my finger through it. The next morning, I explained what I experienced and simply asked that the room be cleaned properly and please new CLEAN sheets. They remedied everything (except the nightstand was never cleaned). No apologies... but oh well. The 2nd floor guests must have had a little child, so we heard stomping until 9:40pm. Beyond that, it IS a great place, great food... but I was thoroughly disappointed to pay $125 for a dirty room (I think tax is added to this price). I had stayed this past week at a Hilton hotel for $140 and it was immaculate; something super important with the rise in Covid. Hoping management sees this review and makes sure future guests will enjoy the excellence they provided a year ago.

We stayed at the commodore hotel on august 8th 2021 we stayed in room 11 beds were comfy, the free breakfast was great, the gentleman working there made waffles on a waffle iron if you request one. Cute decor, very clean. Good amenities. We got into the hotel a little bit after closing time at 9 because we were running behind and they stayed open a little after for us so that’s greatly appreciated. Paranormal activity is legit. I was skeptical and didn’t pay attention to claims of ghost activity. However in the middle of the night I was nudged out of my sleep like someone gently grabbing my shoulder, I asked my fiancé if he nudged me in the middle of the night and he said he did not. Still enjoyed my stay though. Would recommend! 👍👍

Such a quaint, beautiful hotel. Property manager was wonderful. Room was spacious and clean. Continental breakfast was delicious with many choices, including waffles made by aforementioned property manager. We brought kayaks and paid for transport, better than any outfitter I’ve used. We will be back on a weekend so we can enjoy the live music and dine in restaurant.

My wife and I love to travel and particularly to small towns! During December, which also happens to be our anniversary, we still want to get away, have fun and keep it simple celebrating! This last December 2020, we took an overnight trip to Linden, TN. Yes, Perry Co. Tennessee is one of the least dense populations in the state and the US! And, the county is one of the most rural counties as well! This ain't the big city and we were overjoyed! Linden, what it lacks in hustle and bustle, makes up in charm and hospitality! We made our reservations at the historic Commodore Hotel in the heart of town on East Main Street. The innkeeper (and owner) Kathy welcomed us in, gave us a brief tour and even upgraded our accommodation to Sarah's Suite, as occupancy was low this evening! Our host went even further to treat us with dessert in our room and flower petals on the bed that evening...we were delighted! The Commodore is highly recommended, but if you are expecting the modern convenience of a Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn you might drive back over to Columbia! The Commodore Hotel is historic and charming...soak in the unique atmosphere of the past, listen and watch for the hotel 'ghost,' stop and chat with the staff and host, you'll be taken back to when time and relationships were valuable! Find those values again, they are within your grasp! Look on the TN Vacations website for great pictures and written history! Don't miss the great food and live music in the Commodore Music Cafe...excellent meals and service all under one roof!

The Commodore Inn was a wonderful experience near the end of my cycle trip on the Natchez Trace. I would happily return to it on my own. The staff was friendly & helpful. My room was in another building but was massive and well appointed. I had a drink in the bar and wished it was closer to where I live because it could definitely be my regular one. Dinner was excellent with both reasonable serving size at a reasonable price. Live music is available some nights and was a great addition for our evening. Breakfast offered plenty of options and was a great start for our last day of cycling. I definitely hope to return ! While I was on a group trip, I would feel very comfortable staying there on my own.
