Kathy and the staff at the Commodore Hotel made this a perfect weekend as we were getting away for a birthday celebration. They researched and assisted us in our local adventures, make great recommendations, and treated us special for my wife’s birthday weekend. Small town with great local flair. Everyone we met were so nice and the local restaurants were wonderful.

The Commodore itself was charming, the kayaking was wonderful, Linden was like stepping back in time 45 years, but Michael and Kathy absolutely made the place gleam with their kindness, attention to detail, friendliness, eagerness to respond to any need or request, and making guests feel like long term friends who had come to visit. I remember telling them, "This feels like we are hanging out with people we have known forever!" They create that kind of ambiance where you truly feel at home (away from home)! Looking forward to a return trip!

We were looking for a nice place to stay the night that was on our path to east Tennessee. The Commodore is a lovely older hotel that fit the bill totally. There were some quibbles -- we asked about a printed walking tour of the town and they did not have anything like that and some other small things. But, it was an unusually charming place for a town. And, we went to explore their property down by the Buffalo River and it was an absolutely beautiful spot.

We stayed here June 9 & 10, 2020. Room 2, very nice. The a/c worked great which I cannot say for other places we stayed on this trip. Alex, the manager, had a great continental breakfast set up in the cafe. He made fresh waffles to order. Breakfast was another thing missing from most hotels at the time, due to Covid-19. We will be staying here again in September 2020. Lovely place. Very clean and quiet.
