I stayed for two nights, I'd never been to Mayo, nor Achill before but it's a stunningly beautiful spot - I look as if I might have been in the Caribbean in some of my photos - and this hotel is in a perfect location to explore the island. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and my room looked... More

Our party was a regular because we had an elderly wheel chair bound gentleman and a 1 year old baby. Good food choices were recommended, helpful assisstence and attention was given and toiletting and baby changing facilities were excellent.

Spent one night here in July. The rooms feel like they could do with a makeover, the bathroom was not the cleanest. On the other hand the room was cheap and had loads of bed space. The service was excellent from reception and bar staff. A pity it was let down at breakfast when part of my wife's order was... More

Myself & boyfriend stayed here for a weekend. Rooms are basic but, at the rates that we paid, I really can't complain. One biggie, that I was delighted with, was soft-closing doors in the rooms & corridors - no late night/ early morning door slamming!! Hot breakfast brought to table, with continental buffet available. Restaurant food was lovely, with giant... More

Water to the front and back of hotel. Dining room and pub enjoys such spectacular views. When we arrived at hotel there was a notice on reception to go into... More

We arrived on Friday 14th Feb after intense driving through snow and floods to a welcome from the hotel staff. The room was warm and very comfortable with plenty of storage space. WE planned to travel to Mullraney for our evening meal but due to bad weather booked into the restaurant. We live near the renowned Chez Hans and have... More

My son and I stayed at Óstán Oileán Acla on the night of Saturday, 24th August, 2013. We were part of a group of 4. We had cycled that day from Westport, along the excellent Great Western Greenway, and had arrived at the hotel tired and wet after a long cycle against the wind and rain. We were looking forward... We were looking for a hostel and popped in to use the loo! The welcome we got from Cathal was brilliant and we ended up staying 2 nights there instead. Friendly, clean, more than helpful. Very clean with large rooms and great views. Massive water pressure - so great showers. Tea and coffee facilitles, and a lovely breakfast with as... More
