One of my favourite places in the world had our honeymoon here and husband surprised me with a weekend away for my 40th. Would go back tomorrow. I love everything about glendalough the scenery around the hotel is out of this world. It is busy at certain times but that would never put me off

This hotel has an amazing location and so gets lots of visitors from day trippers. There are lots of seating areas for lunch/snacks, as well as a bistro bar and the main restaurant. Parking is free if you are staying at the hotel, otherwise it is €5 to enter. The rooms are very dated, but clean and well equipped. There... More

I visited here a few weeks ago with some friends. During a day trip to Glendalough we were unfortunate enough to have had a few drinks here and then eaten later. Rather than go on a rant I have bullet pointed the faults below and added a summary at the end. DRINKS - Not nearly enough staff in place to... More

On arrival for a meal, the waitress placed us but after 10/15mins, we had to request a menu and drink from the bar staff. The food was good, however it was overpriced. The bar service was pretty amateur with staff who had little regard for visitors and tourists. It was disappointing that there was no entertainment in the hotel, particularly... More

The poor young lady was overworked and could not keep up!! She finally went and "let off" to management. I applaud her and her consideration to me!! She was able tto serve us what we ordered but very late since she was the ONLY one on duty

Stayed here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and we received wonderful, warm service from te time of booking until we checked out. Theresa on the front desk was great ,very pleasant. When booking she upsold us to a suite that included dinner and we weren't disappointed! All of our expectations were exceeded and the service in the restaurant was... More

Didn't stay in the hotel but booked tables in the restaurant for communion dinner. It was fantastic, everyone thought the food was superb. Service and staff fantastic. The price was very reasonable as well. We paid a set price per person for 3 course meal and because some didn't have a starter or dessert it was removed from the final... More

First impressions were good - nice room, good location. However...There's a dance for a bus tour going on under our room. The manager explained to me that it's 'normal' to have dances at hotels, that this isn't just a 'guesthouse'. He continued by explaining that the music would be going until 11:30 pm which is 'early'. Ugh, my 90 year... More

Overall a fair experience at the hotel. In context of other reviews, we had no issues parking in the hotel parking lot for no cost. Perhaps it's an issue of capacity. The location of the hotel is fantastic, virtually at the front door you have St Kevin's Monastery, and the trailhead for some beautiful walks and hikes. We didn't have... More
