Food was superb, and would be reason enough to return at the next opportunity; but the kindness of Aveen on reception to help us out (and the willingness of her manager to let her) practically saved our holiday. Today's world is SO commercial, so money-oriented, that nothing (for me) makes a holiday more therapeutic than when someone goes well beyond... More

We visited this hotel in mid May 2016. Hotel is in a beautiful location and is quite impressive from the outside. It is a bit 'run down' inside and needs an interior refurbishment. My wife and I had a evening meal in The Bistro. Food was at best average. I had fish and chips and my wife an 8oz burger.... More

We just had our reunion at this hotel. The place was fantastic. They were probably bit stunned by so many people, but have to say, they handled it very well. We made fond memories at this place. The breakfast was great, the dinners were great and best part they were very accommodating about our special dining needs. The girls put... More

I cannot fault anything! The hotel room was perfect....room 227......twin room with a fantastic view. We did a lovely walk to the lake with my niece and nephew....but the adults did a 4 hour hike. So many different levels of walks to choose from. We met Paddy the horse and took a short carriage ride. This is the most scenic... More

A very nice peacefull hotel near the mountains & lakes, with the stream running through..was a bit pricey for what we had been paying in ireland..but you pay for the setting..breckfast was nice & had a nice meal in the pub next door. Rooms were nice but found the beds quite small for a double..but the views from the window... More

This was the first time I'd stayed at the hotel, but had visited the bar/bistro on other occasions being a big fan of the area. It has character that's for sure but has perhaps seen better days as the pictures of film stars of the 1920's that once stayed in the hotel attest. Our room was okay, though there were... More

We had mixed feelings about this hotel. The location is just fabulous and you would think the hotel would make a fine business. However, despite this the place was not very busy and clearly lacks investment as the decor is tired in many areas. Being positive: we arrived on a wet and busy bank holiday afternoon with parking looking a... More

We had a short walking break to the Wicklow mountains and stayed two nights in the Glendalough Hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location, the staff were very friendly and helpful and we stayed in a nice, clean, double room. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and very good value if you choose the menu of the day,... More

This hotel is in such a lovely location for people travelling car-free who want to get in touch with the great outdoors in Ireland. My friend and I took the Glendalough bus from Dublin to the visitor centre, located next door to this hotel. By the way, the bus is inexpensive and the stop is easy to find at St.... More

This hotel has all the surroundings that you would expect from first class hotel. However, rude, unhappy, unhelpful waiting staff led to a miserable and expensive experience. Having visited Eire on, many occasions, I have never come across such poor service. Yes, there was a wedding, yes they were busy. But there was not a smile to be had, let... More
