Secluded, quiet location. Car needed but taxis available if going into Gorey to eat in the evenings. Scones and tea on arrival. Very old world but with wifi to boot. Away from traffic, tennis courts, pond and woodland on grounds. Fabulous breakfast grown in house garden or sourced locally. Tranquil and luxurious stay and I will be back.

On arrival we were given tea and hot scones, jam and cream. The place was spotless and eclectically and comfortably furnished with lots of antiques. Our bedroom was large and comfortable with views of the garden [no. 6]. We wandered round the large garden and if the day had been better would have enjoyed some peaceful reading by the large... We stayed in woodlands country house while attending a wedding in a nearby hotel. This wonderful gem of a b&b exceeded expectations. We received a very warm welcome from philomena and her staff, the decor of the house was outstanding, the room was spacious, bright and clean and the garden and setting was idyllic. What really made our stay was the... More

Like staying with a favorite aunt! Wonderful warm house, clean, well-appointed rooms and without doubt the best breakfast we had in our weeklong visit to Ireland. Lovely tea upon our arrival with fresh sweets. Philomena's soda bread was the gold standard.

We decided to try a quality B&B for a change from the hotel scene for our weekend away. My partner, who has chronic asthma is fed up with certain hotels who spray the carpets and mattresses with the chemicals used to kill off anything nasty. Looking at the photos and reviews on this site, of the Woodlands house, we thought... More

A wonderful stay. We were looked after perfectly. Scones and home made jam on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. It was so comfortable and a beautiful breakfast with home made jam and stewed fruit, wide choice of cereal, and choice of cooked. I had a walk in the woods before breakfast just over the road.

Proprietors Philomena & John work as a perfect team making their home a haven of relaxation, beauty and total luxury! We chose to stay in their most expensive room as a special treat and it was excellent value for money @ only €60 B&B. Bed was very big and super comfortable with top quality bed linen so an excellent night's... More

Stayed in for the Easter bank holiday. Place was buzzing with people. Room was of huge size with our own private balcony over looking the gardens. Lovely walk down the drive into the forest. Good spread for breakfast with a good selection of fruits and cereals
