We stayed here for one night recently. We were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely comfortable en suite room. Excellent breakfast.. We enjoyed chatting to the friendly owners. Also the tea/coffee making facilities in the sitting area were appreciated. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It is in a lovely scenic area. We would love to return... More

Read the management responses to "terrible" ratings to get an insight. I didn't. There is a circular drive way. It is a quiet area except for the other guests heard snoring down hallway Rooms are clean. Is cheap. ..................................

I was traveling with an Australian cycling team, competing in An Ras Post. It started when we were greeted by a man in tracksuit and long nails!! He showed me the rooms which were ok, but when I asked if I could use the microwave to heat up some food for the team, as they have special diets! he said... More

We stopped into the restaurant after we visited Mount Melleray abbey for tea, got 3 teas, 2 scones and a slice of chocolate cake, with 3 glasses of milk for kids - it all came to 20 Euro which I struggling to comprehend - for that come to about 5 euro for a cup of tea and a scone? and... More

Nice, quiet, small, 10 bedroom hotel. Comfortable, friendly, quirky, has a bar, free tea and coffee, really tasty plain food cooked by the owner. Short walk to Mount Mellery monastery and the Knockmealdown mountains. Great venue for a walking base.

Chris is an absolute gentleman. He greeted us with such warmth, which matched the 'toastiness' of the room. We'd had two bereavements and had to change our dates but this was very kindly and sympathetically changed without any problem and with great empathy. Thank you for this. Chris showed us to our room, brought us a tray with tea, cups,... More

It is off the beat but worth it. Beautiful area. We got a surprise when we arrived, the owner told us we could attend the prayer at the Monastery. What a treat. Then we got a surprise in the morning...4 inches of snow. The room was comfortable and warm and our hosts were very nice.

Terrible hotel. They say on booking that check-in is possible until 9pm. We were there at 9.15pm. Basically they shut down the reception, and there's no alive person there. The phone number also doesn't respond. We are in the middle of nowhere in the rain with no place to spend the night. More than that, they charg the whole price... More

We clearly inform you that reception hours for check in is between 1500 hours and 2100 hours. We ask that should you expect to arrive later to contact the hotel in advance. We also try to contact anyone that hasn't arrived prior to this time. If no contact is made one cannot expect reception to remain open for them. As... More
