My sisters and I were in Ballina for a family wedding and we couldn't have been more comfortable or felt more at home than we did at Whitethorn Lodge, or "Anne's House" as we came to call it. The place was clean, bright, and spacious, the beds were really comfortable, and wi-fi was reliable. Each day started with a delicious... More

My second stay at Whitethornlodge and it was a feeling like coming home. Anne is a marvellous host... she phoned for the reservation of a boat trip at Lough Dergh, bought salmon for a breakfast Special, informed us about a traditionial Irish Music session in a pub... We enjoyed our stay again very much.

We enjoyed a peaceful stay. Quiet and calming place. Comfortable room and nice location. Had a swim in the heated outdoor pool in Ballina. A great discovery. This was followed by a great meal in Tuscany restaurant and a walk across the fine old bridge to Killaloe village with its. Charming winding Main Street.

I had to book a B&B on short notice for a wedding, Ann couldn't have been more accommodating from the very beginning. The facilities and the breakfast menu are truly top quality, I highly recommend this B&B to anyone who's staying in the area (it's a short distance to the town centre also!) I was sad to leave, I will hopefully... More

We stayed with Anne last Saturday, and what a pleasure it was!!!! We found her listing on Trip Advisor, and she made booking a breeze. Anne treated us like family members, and helped us get our Ireland trip started with famed Irish hospitality. Her rooms are large and spotless, and the location is perfect. Her B&B is a quiet, 10... My wife and I travelled down Friday evening for a Saturday wedding in a nearby hotel, we were first greeted by Anne and given excellent directions to a local restaurant. Next morning my wife discovered she had forgotten her hat for the wedding and a charger for her mobile phone, Anne came to the rescue loaning us both and saving... More

I stayed here for 2 nights November 2015. I was impressed with the four ground-floor rooms. Each had a double and single bed and a roomy wetroom/bathroom well set up for invalids/mobility difficulties. Everything was bright and comfortable and, importantly at this time of year, warm. Breakfast was good. The proprietor, Anne O'Connor was very welcoming and not only gave... More

Ann was a wonderful host who made me feel welcome. The B&B is located close to the motorway and Limerick and would make an ideal base for a few days around the area. Also, it has the best disabled facilities I have seen to date in an Irish B&B.
