I unfortunately had a really terrible stay at Ashbourne House for reasons entirely unrelated to the property or the hosts. I came down with one of the worst cases of food poisoning I've ever had (from a restaurant in town) and spent about 16 hours being incredibly ill. Joan and Tim were my absolute heros during this ordeal. I only...

Having read the reviews I wasn't expecting too much. I was very pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The staff were incredible from start to finish. The food was really good, it was just the decor that let the Hotel down. I think you could almost describe the hotel as shabby. The bedrooms were perfectly adequate but desperately needed modernising. The shower...

Months before traveling to the Ashbourne House Hotel, we made our reservation online and followed that up with an email requesting an early check-in which was very graciously granted. Upon our morning arrival from the US, we attempted to check-in but were rather coldly informed that we could not get in until the afternoon. When told about the prior arrangements,...

The hotel was great. The receptionist was excellant. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were adequate. Comfortable but slightly on the warm side. The television in the room was of poor quality and picture very blurred. The food was very tasty. There was a nice ambience in the bar. I would stay here again.

Stayed here the night before we flew. The restaurant unfortunately was closed but the food in the bar was the same quality and was super. No complaints at all about breakfast either as we were well fed and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. We would have gave 5 stars but the room needed a little TLC but...

What a farce of a hotel. On Saturday gone I held my wifes surprise party which went perfectly up until I checked Catherine who I had dealt with up to the day was nothing but fantastic and even in the last few days has been nothing but helpful. Upon check in we discovered that the water pump was broken so...
