A lovely B&B with a great welcome and a very personal touch. But the main high point is the breakfast, all homemade, including breads, granola, fresh fruit juice. The Cashel blue cheese cakes with mushrooms are amazing!

Stayed in Ivyleigh House last night & it is beautiful. Very friendly owners, beautiful comfortable, warm bedroom & delicious breakfast with lovely homemade breads & gorgeous cooked breakfast. The nicest place to stay in Portlaoise & excellent location too.

good situation away from busy town a bit dated, but the beds were comfortable. having to order breakfast before you have had your dinner is a problem and having to give an exact time is a bit of a downer too, especially if you are used to hotels where you have a between 8-10 situation which is much better for... We stayed overnight lovely decor throughout.we had a really nice friendly greeting and quite enjoyed a friendly chat before going to our family function. The rooms were pleasantly warm but importantly not overly so bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with local quality products but you are asked on check in what we would like in advance . My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The owners are very friendly, and a wealth of knowledge for travelers. This was our first trip to Ireland, and they really helped us out. Their B&B is ultra clean, and on a very nice, quiet side street. Easy walking distance to restaurants. Their rooms are well appointed, and very comfortable.... More

Stayed in this B&B for one night in February. Met by both owners on arrival and checked in. They were more than helpful in suggesting a number of places to eat that night. Rooms were old worldly and very comfortable. Breakfast was second to none, all free range and made fresh including the wheaten and bread. When we left I... More

Stayed there on way to Dublin, read reviews for area and tried here. Good decision . Rooms are first class with beautiful decor thru out. Booked two rooms as with son and friend. We asked where to eat as after 8pm. Guided to Seasons Restaurant in centre of town. Best food on our tour of Ireland. Beds were very comfortable.... More

We stopped for one night in Portlaoise last May during a golfing trip across Ireland. Location is nice, just a couple of minutes walk from town centre. House and rooms are old fashioned, but lovely and well maintained. Breakfast was very good too. Very convenient parking at rear.
