Travelers' Choice
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray

This trip to Inishbofin was at a different time to my usual visit but due to Covid restrictions earlier in the year all plans were changed. I was delighted to get a chance to come out to the island. It certainly didn't alter the welcome I received when I got there. It was as warm as ever. It's so nice to return to a place and get such a lovely welcome. Covid has changed the way things are done and it was no different at the Doonmore Hotel . A lot of careful planning had been put into this and all of it was done so efficiently and so nicely that it did not feel like an imposition or a difficulty . Of course things and procedures had to change but it was no hardship to adapt to these changes. The hotel was as comfortable and as friendly as it always has been. The bedrooms are

Dear Barbara S, Thank you so much for your fantastic review. You are 100% correct of course, it did take a lot of thought and a lot of effort to make it seem like it didn't take a lot of thought and a lot of effort! We were so happy that everyone who came to stay or dine with us felt safe and comfortable and enjoyed the same level of service and hospitality as 'normal'. That was very high on our agenda, as was the intent to mitigate the effect of the restrictions on your overall experience. Yes, we missed the music and the buzz that a typical evening in Murray's brings, but people are unbelievable adaptive. The story telling, the art of conversation, the rekindling and the creation of friendships that is always a part of the Doonmore experience moved to centre stage and did a fine job! It was so lovely to see you this season, albeit at a different stage of the season. I know how much it means to you, as it does to so so many, to get a little bit of Bofin time every year. I look forward to your 2021 visit, stay safe and well in the meantime. Regards, Andrew

We stayed for 3 nights and brought my dog along! She loved her stay. The staff were excellent and the sun room was perfect for breakfast and dinner with the dog. We are already planning our trip back!

Dear Brian m, Thank you so much for your great review. It was so brilliant that we were able to have you all back this year, in spite of all covid threw at us! 6 weeks later than normal years but a successful trip regardless. Even the weather cooperated as it usually does for the club! We all missed the music and the craic in the bar this season but that will return as I know you all will. Hopefully 2021 will be closer to normal but if not we know we can make it work anyway. See you then, Andrew

Once again Andrew, Donna and Team did a great job of welcoming us back to the island. We were made to feel special and their covid restriction management approach was fair but firm :-). We felt safe. I have the privilege of staying in 5 star hotels around the world and I can say with certainty that the effort the Doonmore team put into their work is 5 star. This is a special place. More than worth a visit.

Hi Garech, Thank you so much for your great review. 5 star treatment for 5 star guests, it's only fair! It was brilliant to have you all back again for the annual reunion. Even though it was the other end of the year from the usual and with a few Covid restrictions thrown in, it didn't seem to dampen the fun that much and gave everyone a sense of normality of sorts. Looking forward to seeing everyone back again in 2021. Thanks again, Andrew
