Travelers' Choice
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray

We had lunch in Murray (Doonmore Hotel) today. Great food and very reasonable in price. Fabulous views, health and safety spot on in light of the corona virus. Good staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for food.

Dear Clifdenconnemara, Thank you so much for your excellent review. I hope you make it back to us to stay the next time, when the need for restrictions will hopefully be a thing of the past. It really is hard to beat the views and the best thing is they will never change. Regards, Andrew

Working on the frontline myself, i fully appreciated the consistency and respectful manner covid restrictions were carried out in Doonmore hotel . Respect for their customer and their community . Food is delish and we ate our three meals of the three days in Doonmore hotel. Different every day but high quality each time . Deserts would need a whole other review, just pure class .Staff were spot on and Donna keeps a good eye to a smooth running ship. As for the rooms ,spotless and covid was not used as an excuse to reduce service in this area . Andrew and his team know their customer and adapt accordingly ,leaving everyone feeling comfortable and lucky to share such a wonderful haven as Bofin .

Dear carmelo315, Thank you so much for your excellent and very considered review. As you so rightly observed, we put a lot of emphasis on implementing the restrictions fully but in a manner that minimised the disruption to our guests enjoyment and comfort. At the heart of all decisions was indeed respect for our customers and especially respect for our community, doing everything to keep everyone as safe as we possibly could. I really enjoyed our chats and look forward to your return in 2021, regardless of the conditions, we know we can still provide our customers with an enjoyable holiday, great food and top class service, exactly what you all deserve in these tough times. Many thanks, Andrew

Doonmore is the ideal spot to stay on the island. Great hospitality and total professionalism in the current climate with the perfect spot right by the sea! The staff are all friendly, attentive and helpful and the little touches like transferring of luggage from and to the pier to meet each ferry are very welcome. I have visited this establishment many times in the past but this is the first time I have stayed but it won't be the last!!

This trip to Inishbofin was at a different time to my usual visit but due to Covid restrictions earlier in the year all plans were changed. I was delighted to get a chance to come out to the island. It certainly didn't alter the welcome I received when I got there. It was as warm as ever. It's so nice to return to a place and get such a lovely welcome. Covid has changed the way things are done and it was no different at the Doonmore Hotel . A lot of careful planning had been put into this and all of it was done so efficiently and so nicely that it did not feel like an imposition or a difficulty . Of course things and procedures had to change but it was no hardship to adapt to these changes. The hotel was as comfortable and as friendly as it always has been. The bedrooms are

Dear Barbara S, Thank you so much for your fantastic review. You are 100% correct of course, it did take a lot of thought and a lot of effort to make it seem like it didn't take a lot of thought and a lot of effort! We were so happy that everyone who came to stay or dine with us felt safe and comfortable and enjoyed the same level of service and hospitality as 'normal'. That was very high on our agenda, as was the intent to mitigate the effect of the restrictions on your overall experience. Yes, we missed the music and the buzz that a typical evening in Murray's brings, but people are unbelievable adaptive. The story telling, the art of conversation, the rekindling and the creation of friendships that is always a part of the Doonmore experience moved to centre stage and did a fine job! It was so lovely to see you this season, albeit at a different stage of the season. I know how much it means to you, as it does to so so many, to get a little bit of Bofin time every year. I look forward to your 2021 visit, stay safe and well in the meantime. Regards, Andrew
