We had the most relaxing few days on Inishbofin and staying in the Doonmore hotel was very enjoyable-friendly staff and delicious food, a cosy laid back hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea with a separate bathroom.I would highly recommend staying with the Murrays in the Doonmore.

Innisboffin is a fantastic spot and the Doonmore is an ideal location to use as a base to explore. The food is great as are the staff / family who run it. We stayed as a famil group this August. Highly recommended.

Once booked on line I received a phone call from Andrew confirming our booking and arrival ferry time. He told me that he would meet us on arrival at the pier with the courtesy bus. As it was our first trip to the island and this was a very welcome service - particularly as it was misty when we arrived.... More

Love staying in Doonmore. Andrew and staff are outstanding. The day we arrived it was cold wet and windy (in August!) but to our delight the heating had been turned on in the bedroom. Touches like this make all the difference. Third time here and looking forward to return visit.

OK, the sea's likely to be choppy (or worse!) and the weather may not always be exactly tropical but this is the real Ireland and the 'craic' at the Doonmore (aka Murray's) is simply the best. Not surprising perhaps as owner Andrew used to sing with Irish band de Danann and his sons are both excellent musicians and singers and... More

I have stayed on Bofin many times & this was my first stay in Murrays. The room was clean & functional, the shower was like standing under a power hose!. The food was very good as usual & the music & craic in the Bar is unrivaled on this beautiful unspoiled Island. Can't wait for my next visit !

Everything was great--warm welcome, comfortable room, food, bar, generally good information about the walking (when reviewing the walks they forgot to tell us that at a certain point the dirt walking road ended and the trail went off trail markers; since it had been raining it seemed that the road faded into mud and not that it had actually ended).... We enjoyed the outdoor seating area at Doonmore after a walk through the West Quarter. We had eaten our own picnic but the good range of seafood fare at the hotel certainly captivated other walkers and cyclists. The facilities are good and the atmosphere charming

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray ... more   less
