I was invited recently to a woodcock shoot at the above hotel. What a surprise I got!! The day started at 9.30 the dogs hunted great and the beaters worked very diligently. We shot up until lunchtime and then retired back to the hotel for hot ports and a Silver Service lunch. The lunch was brilliant from start to finish....

Recently spent two nights in the Zetland and would recommend this place to anyone. We were the only guests in the hotel at the time (due I think to the time of year) and the staff could not have done more to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A table was set up for dinner in the lovely drawing...

We had booked a meal for 4 to celebrate a special birthday and a bit of a 'Hen" do for that person. the staff made it quite special and allowed us to have the fun and quirky games we planned. the food was good and the atmosphere conducive to a good time a cake was made and served to feed...

We spent 2 weeks touring southern Ireland and the Zetland House was our favorite stop. Our rooms overlooked the lake and were huge by any standard. Most enjoyable was the staff. They were accommodating, friendly and willing to fulfill any request. One evening we asked for lamb cutlets which were not on the menu, and the chef (Margaret) went out...

We join the vast majority of Zetland reviewers who enjoyed their stay at this lovely, old country hotel. In fact, we really didn't want to leave---ever. Our rooms were invitingly large, with a huge bathroom adjoining, plus they overlooked the garden and the lake beyond. Breathtaking. We too arrived late and tired, but having eaten a late lunch, we didn't...

First of all, it is a beautiful country house property, with perfect location, lovely grounds, nice website and you pay rates comparable to any luxury country house property... and has very friendly staff. However, luxury it is emphatically not. It has not been properly maintained (i.e., to high standards) for ages and that shows - both in the exterior and...

First Impressions-Dodgy...Rolled up the driveway with a few friends for a couple of nights sightseeing in this great area, in July. House looked a bit shabby with cracked unpainted window frames and windows that need a good wash...getting out of car with that sinking feeling!!! Reception-Met with a friendly face...maybe this will be better. Quickly checked in and brought to...

Was my fist time to visit this hotel yesterday as our classic car club had arranged it as our lunch stop off with the hotel. Over 100 of us arrived to find staff totally disorganised, only 1 option for lunch, 3 course €25 , told by floor staff , 'that's it, or you can have a scone and tea'. After...

Myself and my future husband stopped by here on a drive through the wonderful Connemara. We stopped for some light refreshments but ended up staying for some hours and having dinner. The atmosphere was fantastic and we were made to fell very welcome... it felt like coming home to mums... We were shown to a very quaint room off the...

Arrived late after a long drive, tired and cold (it was June in Connemara!) Main restaurant had closed, so Colm and staff organised food from the bar menu, a table beside the fire, and even an electric blanket on our bed. We'd booked a superior room, which was spacious, clean, unfussy and comfortable. There was virtually no noise around the...
