I was delighted to visit this beautiful location famous for its culinary history. We had scones & coffee in the drawing room. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. We visited the currant artist's exhibition who we talked to and was so impressed by his paintings of local scenes. Walked around the grounds and bought delicious relishes. A wonderful experience and... More

We had the pleasure of dining here for lunch this week. The food was absolutely superb. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Ballymaloe, it quickly became apparent that this place is all about locally sourced produce. The food is simple and cooked beautifully and not of the fussy variety. I loved the added touch of being asked if... More

Thank you for your great review. I am delighted you enjoyed your lunch with us at Ballymaloe. The Dessert Trolley is always a hit! It has been suggested that it should be served at the start of the meal, so that people have space! We look forward to seeing you again. More

Ballymaloe is world-famous thanks to the culinary expertise of the Allen family, with the family home operating as the hotel and their renowned cookery school a few miles off on the other side of the property. An eclectic house built over centuries, Ballymaloe is not your slick contemporary property, rather a throwback to a more gracious time. Rooms are simple... More

We booked our special trip in April for a long weekend to treat ourselves for our 15th Wedding Anniversary although it's not until October we wanted to visit whilst the weather was good. Ballymaloe didn't disappoint we booked a beautiful suite. The food is very good, and you are served to a Sunday evening cold buffet by the Allen family... More

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend in late July. She arrived late on a Friday evening after having rented a car and driven from Cork airport (about 40 minutes). Even though she arrived quite late, the hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and fixed her up with a delicious meal. On Saturday, she picked a friend and myself... More

Currently we're doing a road trip in Ireland and one of our first stops was two nights at Ballymaloe. It certainly has been a pleasure. Check in was easy (we had the Brown and the Gold rooms) and we very much liked the home-from-home feel that the house exudes. The only thing I might wish to be different was the... More

Thank you for your long and very detailed description of your stay with us. It is good to receive constructive criticism. We also thank you for your five star rating despite there being a few hiccups in service. We will certainly look again at our WiFi. The old thick walls of the house are a bit of a barrier, but... We had the absolute pleasure of getting married here at the beginning of July and to say it was perfection, would be an understatement. From day one, dealing with the staff especially Leila, has been a joy. It made planning our wedding utterly enjoyable.
