Well, the location. it's good only if you're coming from the Shannon airport. Otherwise - it's not. there are barely any bus lines connecting Sixmilebridge with Limerick or other nearby cities, so you have to use train. At the beginning or end of a trip, it's nice to have a spot to prepare. After a 3 month bike trip around Ireland, we enjoyed 5 days at the Jamaica Inn. Contrary to what other reviewers have said the owner Michael and his wife have always been extremely friendly and helpful when I have stayed there with groups of university students which we have done for three years or so. The rooms are quite basic but clean and functional and the use of the kitchen and lounge is a great bonus.... More

I have friends living in Sixmilebridge and therefore wanted to be close to the town, I looked at staying in Limerick but found Jamaica Inn instead. Several people in Limerick told me the city closed the B&Bs and the hostels and put up high rise hotels. There is a Travel lodge, but it would not budge from the 42 Euros for one person.
