We went to The Abbey Tavern for a night, as we went to the banquet in Knappogue Castle and everything went very well. Castle is about 5 min driving from the the B&B, it's a great spot to be. Room was spotless clean and huge compared to the usual standard of B&Bs. Mark and Sandra were very good and gave... More

Where was the best food around during the Fleadh down in Ennis? In Quin, at The Abbey Tavern.....always delicious, piping hot and reasonably priced. Had way too many bad meals in Ennis this trip. And, if you like your meat cooked anywhere less than well done, one of the only places that can accommodate. Mark and his team never disappoint!

We came here by recommendation of our B+B host. We had the 3 course dinner which was good and served quickly. The only thing to "complain" is the bit hectic atmosphere which is probably usual in the season. A walk around the beautiful and. ... spooky.. abbey is highly recommended. 😊

We stopped here on our last night in Ireland. Had a seat at the bar Not sure if the bartender really wanted us there as a waitress kept coming over and taking our orders and working with us. He would mostly ignore us until she told him our order. He would serve other people over us. I am sure he... More

We had only planned to make a quick stop at The Abbey across the street but found ourselves loving Quin so much we stayed a longer time at the Abbey and then wanting to have dinner at The Abbey Tavern. It started as a "let's just have a quick pint", but the menu looked so awesome, we turned it to... More

Food (Haddock special) was average and a bit pricey. Took a while for server to come by then her service was very rushed. They rushed our children to finish. None of the staff smiled. Asked to split the bill between 2 families. They stated 'we don't normally split bills'.

Extensive menu means you can eat there for a few days without getting bored. Rooms are older and basic but comfortable and clean.. not quite quaint.. but heading in that direction. It was hot when we were there so open windows meant a bit of noise from the restaurant below for a while at bedtime but it quietened down until... More

We were on our way to Craggaunowen this evening, but we were all starving and decided to stop at the first pub we found still serving food at 4 30pm, which was the abbey tavern! We (a party of 2 adults and two children ) had 2 courses each, a glass of wine and a pint of Gunness all for... More

Brought 17 adults and 2 children here on a quiet Saturday in July. They ate well and drank. As bus driver and Guide I asked do u look after them and was told yes so I ordered a medium Rare steak which was over cooked but didn't say anything as I was "being looked after". I always give a generous... More
