Beautifully appointed house in lovingly tended gardens more like a boutique hotel than a B&B. Food is great: The breakfast is as good as any top class hotel, the dinner we had for 5 people was imaginative, well made, beautifully presented and very good value for money. It puts many destination restaurants to shame. Accommodation is excellent: We stayed in...

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We spent a Saturday night here and from the moment you drive through the gates and down the beautiful drive of the property, you feel relaxed. The place feels like worlds away from your day to day and offers an amazing sense of relaxation and calm. We were greeted by Bryan, who showed...

Stayed here for two nights for a nearby wedding and absolutely loved the house, the timeless country house atmosphere, though the drawing room is wonderfully eclectic and the most fantastic working gardens to walk around. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

My wife and I stayed in Kilgraney House for one night and found it a wonderfully relaxing experience. There were numerous painters in the gardens when we arrived which was v diverting. The gardens are v expansive with many different themes and well worth several walks. The dinner was really delicious and served in a lovely quiet dining room by...

Over the years I had heard about Kilgraney House but never managed to visit. Until last weekend when we stayed for 2 wonderful nights at this relaxing and special place. The house itself is beautiful. Very well appointed and restful. But the real gem in the House is the hospitality provided by the hosts who are both welcoming and generous...

Enjoyed a very pleasant overnight stay at Kilgramey. Bryan and Martin are lovely hosts and must have been shattered after preparing and serving a gastronomic delight. Simply delicious. Unrushed and very well presented - it was all we could do to take a five minute stroll round the garden before clambering to bed, exhausted but replete. The house itself is...

My husband and I stayed for 4 days and had the most wonderful time. It is set in a very quiet and picturesque part of the contryside. Bryan and MArtin, the owners are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast is out of this world and was enough to fill us until supper! THe gardens are beautiful - we actually walked...

Stayed in a herb garden suit while attending a wedding in Borris. Meet Brian the owner who is friendly and good for a chat. He even gave us a lift into the town to attend the reception. The breakfast was gorgeous and the whole experience of the B&B was amazing.

Had dinner in the summer in this lovely country house. The 5 course dinner menu was utterly delicious and we found the room and the entire place to be the most relaxing and soothing place we've ever been. The owners are doing their very best to ensure everything runs smoothly, yet are never intrusive. Modern cuisine, classics revisited, interesting fusion...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kilgraney is a gracious Georgian country house overlooking the Barrow valley and is less than ninety minutes by car from Dublin. Surrounded by extensive gardens and granite stone courtyards filled with culinary, aromatic and medicinal plants, the property offers guests a memorable country house experience in a tranquil rural setting on the Carlow-Kilkenny border. Since 1994 we have been inspired by Kilgraney and captivated by what the surrounding countryside, towns and people have to offer. It is here that we grow, prepare, cook and present an encounter with the locality and the best of what the season has to offer. Kilgraney Country House is open for weekend dinner packages during March to September 2017. Kilgraney Suites and Cottages are open for B & B packages from March to September 2017 ... more   less
