This is such a nice hotel. It is an old building that was refurbished in 2010. The rooms are modern. We stayed in the king suite and it was spacious and comfortable inviting and very relaxing. I really thought that I was more at home and not at a hotel. The hotel is right on market Square in the middle... More

This is a beautiful little hotel with a charming Library Bar and coffee bar just off the lobby. The building is "historic" but the rooms are up to date, if a bit on the small size. The staff could not have been more welcoming. The valet parking ($18) is a convenient way to go, but there is a nearby public... More

Retro boutique property with amazing location right next to Market Square. Super clean and well appointed rooms. "Speakeasy" on property which made wonderful drinks by night and AWESOME coffee in the morning. Valet parking that was quick and solved a big problem when staying in any major city. Bonus points for a super professional staff of sharp and friendly people... More

My wife and I love to spend a night downtown now and then just for a change of scenery and to enjoy all our downtown has to offer. The Oliver has such charm and character - the rooms are well appointed and the location can't be beat for walking to any venue. We had heard they opened a new restaurant... More

It was a real treat to spend a night at the Oliver. It had lots of southern charm but with some modern conveniences. Located on Market Square gave us lots of choices for diner within easy walking distance. Parking was in a garage around the corner at a reasonable rate ($7/night). Had a few drinks at the Peter Kern Library... More

This hotel has given me the best experience in a hotel. The staff at this hotel have been so accommodating, and nice. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambience of the rooms and hotel were amazing. It has the perfect setting for downtown Knoxville. Super convenient to get to and just steps away to dinning and shopping.... More

We stayed at the Oliver for one night and it was memorable! The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent! We stayed in a queen room and it was superbly decorated and the bathroom personal care hotels are exquisite. The location is right in the heart of Market Square and the theatre district is one street over. We will... More

Stayed two nights at the Oliver Hotel. Had a corner king room on the 3rd floor. Very nice property. The Good: Location, location, location. Everything imaginable right outside the door. Two good restaurants in the hotel and many others within steps. Lots of fun bars with roof decks, and lots of Pokestops nearby (including the hotel). Big room and bath,... More

While in Knoxville we stayed at The Oliver Hotel and I can't say enough great things about it. I give it my highest recommendation if you're in the area and I look forward to going back. Fabulous quality, service, and setting. The hotel bar, The Peter Kern Library, is well worth your time as well with the drinks named for... More

Great service, great room, and great view of Market Square. They allowed us to drop of our luggage the day before and had it in our room waiting when we arrived. There is speakeasy in the hotel called the Library which is worth experiencing. Overall, the price was well worth the stay!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar. ... more   less
