Travelers' Choice
Situated in the heart of Knoxville just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Market Square, The Oliver Hotel is an original expression of the city. Originally built in 1876 as the Peter Kern Bakery, the building had hosted everything from the Kern's candy counter and soda fountain to a drugstore, and dancing hall. In 2011, the property was renovated into what is now Knoxville's best boutique hotel with a style that plays tribute to the buildings history, while offering guests rooms with charm, sophistication, and modern amenities. The property features the Peter Kern Library Bar, a craft cocktail lounge; Tupelo Honey Cafe, an award winning restaurant; and Oliver Royale Restaurant, featuring a chef driven menu and bar.

WOW, really that sums it up! This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful property and sits on the corner of "Market Square" downtown Knoxville. So its very "walkable" to cafes, shops, etc. It was extremely clean and we felt very safe concerning all that is going on with COVID. Brianna at the front desk was a breath of fresh air, eager to help in any way and super friendly but yet professional. The bed was so comfy, one of the best we've ever slept in. (and we travel a lot) The pics on the website are true to hotel, decor is amazing. We did not eat at the hotel so can't comment on that but WOW on everything else. My husband had a business meeting the next day and they gave us a late check out so that I could stay in the room until he got finished, very nice touch and I appreciated that so much. We CANNOT wait to go back! You can not go wrong staying here. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the nation and this one makes the top 5 for me!

We had walked past The Oliver several times during previous visits to Knoxville and were dying to stay at the hotel. When were able to finally visit, the hotel was well worth the wait. The hotel was fabulous. The staff (especially Sondra) was wonderful. Our dinner experience was off-the-chart great!

We recently visited this fine facility again and had another fabulous time...even in the era of covid-19. The staff is super friendly and the facilities are spot-on. Highly recommend the Oliver Royale restaurant and the Library Bar. Food is delicious and the service friendly and professional. And who can complain about the bourbon selections? Also recommend booking the Oliver Suite.

Brionna (sp?) was our only point of contact throughout our stay and SHE WAS AWESOME!!! So friendly. So helpful. So accommodating. You couldn't possibly find a better representative for your hotel. The Oliver Suite was exceptional. Beautifully appointed. Nice View. The air conditioning was not 100% but, given the high temps and humidity, it was not uncomfortable in the room. I just prefer cold when I sleep and the lowest temp achieved for length of stay was 73 degrees. The Kern Library is always an exceptional experience. I try never to select the same drink twice - and I've never been disappointed with my selection. The bartenders/servers have always been very knowledgeable and spot-on with their recommendations. Two thumbs waaaayyy up!

The room was well appointed, and the staff was amazing! Every single person was helpful and kind. We had a wonderful time celebrating my friend's birthday! The Library (bar downstairs) has really good unique drinks, and The Oliver Royale (connected restaurant) was super fancy. 'd recommend The Oliver to anyone!
