This Hilton really needs a makeover. The rooms were old, well worn, draperies heavy, colors dark. Would choose a different hotel next time through. Pros: downtown, walking distance to Market street eateries, quiet enough, clean. Cons: dark, well worn, needs an update.

I stayed at the Hilton Knoxville for one night with my girlfriend as we were visiting her family and I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel grounds and our room and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure our short stay was enjoyable and we felt safe and comfortable during our time there (especially during the tail-end of the initial pandemic lockdowns). We stayed in one of their suites which had a cool, vintage, extremely comfortable murphy bed! I highly recommend this hotel and will look to stay again whenever in Knoxville. Thanks!

We've slept in 2 star hotels that had quieter in-room A/C units. This one sounded like it was on its last leg. The noise kept waking us. Perhaps the most ridiculous charge was $20 self-parking! We didn't learn about it until checking out the next morning. When we pulled up for the night, we saw a large sign stating $24 Valet parking. Asked if we can self park, the young man at valet said yes, but we'd have to check-in first. Even the man at the inside desk asked if we wanted valet or self. He never mentioned the $20 charge for self-parking when giving us the room key and garage parking card. When we checked-out, the young woman behind the counter said, "That will be $20 for self-parking." Informed her that it was never mentioned upon check-in. Fortunately, she didn't charge us. However, why charge someone $20 to park their own car? In more than a decade of business travel, we never had a hotel charge for parking our own car - and we've stayed at Hilton's and other 4 star hotels with parking garages.

The Knoxville Hilton did not meet my expectations. I have stayed in Hilton properties all over the country. I chose Hilton because I associate it with comfort and service. I did not want to be at a Day's Inn with few amenities and rowdy families all around. However, that was my experience. Knoxville has an appealing downtown, which we enjoyed. The beds and linens were comfortable. Other, key aspects, were very much lacking. Our room was VERY CRAMPED and should have only had one bed. It was hard to move past all the furniture. The decor was dated. The window valance was dusty and droopy. The bathroom needed a deep cleaning. The corners were dusty. The grooves in the vanity cabinet were grimey. Repairs to door trim areas were rough looking. My daughter tore off half of her big toe nail on a piece of door trim. More about the room: The in room coffee maker did not make decent coffee. This was an issue for me because the only option was to buy from Starbucks in the lobby. Sunday morning, there were 15 - 18 people in line! Gosh, no thanks. I have enjoyed complementary food and beverages at Hilton properties. On this visit, I had to wait in line at the front desk to pay $8 for two bottles of water. I think with the pandemic, Hilton needs to step up their game. I understand that management had to remove vending. But please, where does that leave your customers? I paid over $600 to stay two nights and I was wandering Knoxville trying to buy water and coffee. ;( I really needed my coffee Sunday morning because other customers were loud - all night. My daughter and I were not comfortable getting into a rukus with drunk people. Isn't there security walking about on a weekend night? Anyway, this experience ran counter to my assumptions about Hilton hotels.

Manager Bri found out that my father and I came to The Hilton because my Grandmother was dying and she went out of her way to make sure we were treated with the utmost care. Every day she checked in with me and asked if we needed anything. After my partner called the hotel to check on us, Bri sent daily care packages to our room with handwritten cards. When she found out we were going out to eat she gave us coupons for free dessert. More than anything, she made us feel welcome during a really hard time for my family. My father and I are truly grateful for the kindness we were shown by Bri and the entire staff. I've traveled all over the world and never thought I'd get world class service in Knoxville TN, but Bri made sure the experience was warm and kind. I'm incredibly grateful to the hotel for making my dad feel special. Thank you!
