The wife and I visit Knoxville often and often stay at the Knoxville Hilton. We just returned this afternoon from our most recent stay. I honestly don't know why we keep coming back here. If you read my last review of the Knoxville Hilton, you'd see we got charged for an Executive Level room and wasn't on the executive level floors and didn't get access to the Executive Level perks. (June 2019 review) So, for this trip I wasn't going to splurge for and Executive Level room. For our anniversary we just booked a King Room a long time in advance of our trip. When we arrived at check in we were told they were out of King rooms. ??? How hard is it to hold the specific room reserved? (See Seinfeld episode pertaining taking/holding reservations) Once again we were disappointed by Knoxville Hilton. Once we got to our Queen double room, it was fine. We got dressed and went out for the evening since it was our 38th anniversary. After dinner and drinks we returned to the room late and noticed the thermostat was showing 75 degrees (I had turned it down to 70 before we left for dinner.) No big deal. The next day we spent the day about the town and returned in the evening and the thermostat was up to 77 (see attached picture) even though it was still set on 70. It doesn't seem the AC was working at all even though it was kicking on and off constantly. We slept on top of the covers last night because it was too warm under them. Still woke up sweaty. Anyone reading this might was to bring a fan if you're assigned room 1501 I really think this is the last straw with Knoxville Hilton. We stayed at the new Embassy Suites for our anniversary last year and it was wonderful. Looks like we'll be returning there in the future. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

Pros- Hotel is in a good downtown location near all University events, The Old City, and more. The front staff is very friendly and was eager to help when ask. The hotel smelled and looked pleasant upon entry with an on-site restaurant and Starbucks just about 100ft from the front door. Hotel has 3 elevators for the 18-floors so there was not much waiting on an elevator. The room (Luxury Parlor) had plenty of room and also smelled pleasant. The Serra Dream Cloud mattress was pretty comfortable but seemed as though it didn’t had much support. Cons- When we arrived we were told our room would be ready in 30min, 1-1/2hr later we got into our room. I have kinda overlooked some business delays because of the problem with everyone not being able to get enough workers. The Hotel website is not very clear on the Luxury Parlor and offers no pictures. Since it was the highest class above the executive I thought it had a separate sitting and sleeping area for privacy, it does not. The room has a Murphy King that is situated in the dining area between the counter and 8 person dining table that must be pushed against the window to have room. This was already done when we arrived to the room. You can see in different areas of the room where it looked to have once been separated but was opened up, including 2 a/c units situated beside each other. One of the units didn’t work which made it harder for the other unit to cool the open area at night. My wife and daughter complained about the carpet feeling wet and kind of oily, I don’t go barefoot in hotels so I don’t know. When pulling out the sleeper sofa we found hard French fries and the cushions was stained. They only had a pillow and blanket for sleeper but no sheet so my daughter had to us our blanket, it was hot to us anyway. Ok now this could be either. They allowed dogs and there was a lot of them in the hotel and the restaurant. I have no issue with them in the hotel but others might especially if they have allergies so I figured I would mention it. The parking garage is connected to the hotel but ran by the parking company, $20 to park yourself or $24 for valet. You get breakfast voucher for 2 continental breakfast at the restaurant inside but don’t expect much. We order a meal and they give us the $6 discount each but their food is on the high side. We didn’t us pool or gym so I don’t know anything about those amenities.

The location is convenient to downtown events. Restaurant and Starbucks in the hotel is great. Friendly staff and modern atmosphere makes this hotel a pleasant experience. $20.00 a day to self-park or $24 for valet is common for a Hilton hotel that is located downtown.

Courteous staff, great location, nice rooms. Great value for money relative to other hotels that are downtown—was half the price of the Tennesseean with comparable amenities including a solid gym. Travis at valet was also super nice and helpful!
