Even though we visited during winter season, we had a very nice time. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We stayed for 2 nights and will visit again when in the area.

We were here from November 12 to December 5th 2018 on a family death. Volunteer Park accommodated us without any issues. The employees were very helpful under the circumstances. I would highly recommend them any time during the year.

The people working there are very nice. The campground could use some upgrades like the number of bathrooms. There are a lot of people living there long term and it shows it. There are cats roaming at night. If you sleep in a tent you will smell the cat urine on your tent and belongings every morning. This is a big problem to treat and get rid of.

My wife and I have been moving every 30 days for the past 10 months due to work, and we live in our 31 foot travel trailer. This campground isn't going to blow you away with luxuries, but in all honesty has been one of the few campgrounds we've stayed at that kind of has that "homey" feel. The manager was always super helpful and friendly. We made friends with our neighbor on one side easily, and never even heard a peep from the one on the other side. Both were monthly renters like us, not sure the exact situations. It appears there is probably 1/3 to 1/2 of the park taken by either resident campers or monthly renters that move around for work. We stayed in a back-in along the outer ridge of the park, and due to that had some tree coverage. It was an easy level, but we did have tons of mosquitoes and other bugs because there was a small creek behind our site. It's definitely a tight squeeze, and parking is limited (my 1 ton was backed in and the bed partially under our awning to be out of the road). All that said, I was really pleased with our experience. We were never bothered, but when we would see the manager or other campers, a friendly hello or wave was always exchanged. If I had to work in Knoxville again I'd stay there again!

We stayed at this campground 1 night as we made our way to North Carolina. Very nice check-in gal. Reasonably priced and was able to get AARP discount. Our 25' Airstream fit nicely at our site (#86). Sites are pretty close together but we weren't bothered by noisy neighbors. Plenty of tall pines throughout the park. Clean bathroom/shower building. Good Wi-fi. Cable TV had a big selection of channels. Also, for a Saturday night, the park was quiet once the sun went down. Overall a real nice campground. We'd stay again if ever in the area.
