We arrived late last night, having booked this hotel earlier in the week. Upon arrival, we were told that the hotel was overbooked and they couldn’t accommodate us. The manager called around to other Knoxville hotels and booked us a room at the renovation-in-progress Hotel Knoxville at a discounted rate of $75. So my review is based solely on the initial experience and nothing else, as we never got to enjoy the room or amenities. A phone call earlier in the day would have been nice, especially since we had been traveling all day and with young children.

Marriott does practice overbooking to ensure business. While it does mostly work out, there are times when we do have to relocate guests. Hotel's Favorite
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting grandsons at UT. The staff were VERY nice, the room clean and comfortable AND you can walk to the University and downtown easily. There are no airport shuttles.

We found this hotel last minute after leaving the hotel we had reservations at and had a bad experience at. The staff found us a great room, the parking garage was secure and easy to access our floor from, public areas were well appointed and clean. The location was far enough from the downtown hustle, but close enough to get to quickly if we wanted. It was a short, easy, 20 minute drive to the airport. I will definitely stay here again when traveling to Knoxville.

Came for just one night. Standard rooms, clean and decent. Price very fair for one night. Breakfast was not included in our price, and the menu in the restaurant was not that interesting. But still OK. This is an OK downtown hotel.

Hotel is located close to UT and the downtown area. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times in the past few months but the last visit changed my opinion. Past visits I had been greeted by a very friendly front desk staff, not this time. The guy behind the front desk was friendly and accommodating but unfortunately the other employee had a attitude. I understand dealing with guests who express not being happy with issues such as parking but what made the experience start off better when the woman asked me if I had ever stayed at this location before, offset the check in experience. If the woman had looked at my profile it was obvious I had stayed at this location within the last 3 months. The rooms are spacious unfortunately the 1st room I received had an issue with the comforter being very damp, I was given a new room and told I would receive extra points for my inconvenience, which I have not. Normally, I would not "complain" about not being awarded the extra inconvenience points but this was a legit concern/issue that I was given a room where the comforter was damp/wet, I do not know if it had been recently washed or was it leftover bodily fluids. Thank goodness for clorox wipes! The parking situation is terrible. At some point my rental car received damage. The restaurant area not impressed with the bartender after numerous visits. The TV was on MMA fighting not something you want to watch while your dining or having a drink at the bar. Wonder why it is not busier. I thought this would be my go to hotel when in Knoxville but after this experience, I will stay closer to downtown.
