We were driving through and needed a place to stay and watch fireworks. Sleep Inn was great for that. The room was clean. The breakfast was enough to get us down the road to our next destination. And the fireworks show was good. We watched them from the top of a parking deck next to the World's Fair Park. 11th Street parking garage.

I called ahead of time and my call was placed on the counter with no hold music while I waited 5+ minutes to speak to the representative. Despite this, and because most other hotels in the area were sold out, I stayed here anyway. I only needed a room for a few hours but I wish I just paid more for a more quality hotel. The first room I was issued was dirty and had people’s items in there. The second room I was given looked like someone had been sitting on the bed and didn’t fix it. I regretfully stayed because I only had a few hours to sleep. The bedding and comforter were stained and the shower had hair in it. This hotel needs better monitoring of its housekeeping staff. While posting this review it appears that other people have experienced the same problem.

The rooms are sort of updated. (Newer furniture about it). Mine did have a microwave and mini-fridge. A/C units are the old style, through the wall types and not all that quiet. The carpeting was older than the room updates. Driveway is hard to spot, but just past the Fire station (don't worry about fire safety!). Left before breakfast so no comments on that. Room had shower, but no bath. Maybe other rooms have tubs? Best thing.....just 2 blocks from Puelo Grill. Great place for an upscale meal. Not cheap, but oh so good!

Dear Guest We appreciate you taking time to write a review of our hotel. Feedback is important to us as we are always looking for ways to improve our guests experience. Our handicap rooms do have bathtubs, however, the remaining rooms do have the large stand up showers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I checked in at almost midnight last night. The man at the front desk was very nice. I got to my room unloaded my stuff. And then realized that someone had evidently went to the bathroom and washed their hands, used the hand towel and the room was not cleaned after that. Then I turned on the AC unit and it never got cool in the room. I had it as low as it would go and all night long it kept cycling on and off on and off on and off. Kept me awake all night. The curtains were gross the hip was out of them. I mean if you are charging normal hotel rates you should at least fix the curtains. I would totally not recommend this hotel. I finally went to sleep at 3:30 AM because then I was worried about the room not being clean. And the train woke me up. I called the front desk this morning to ask for a late check out, she gave me a measly 30 minutes extra. Unbelievable. And I am like five nights away from being a diamond member on Choice hotels. (The highest level you can go). I told her about my problems at checkout and she acted as if she didn’t even care. Her response was well you could’ve changed rooms. Don’t stay here. Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistakes.

We were heading to NC for a long weekend in Greenville. We stopped by Thursday on the drive down and it was a questionable stay. We had previously booked our return stay for the drive home so figured we would give them another try. Well NEVER AGAIN! Since we were on the second floor we requested a ground floor ahead; hauling luggage up to second floor was no a great time for two older folks. There is no elevator. Return stay was worse than the first night. Room was dirty. Curtain hem was ripped and hanging; curtain was snagged and looked like a cat had run up it. Lamp by bed had no bulb. Comforter was dirty with burn holes and the nonsmoking room reeked of smoke. Carpet was dirty and stained. The side door was broken and accessible to anyone from the street; looks like it's been like this for a while. Front desk help was not helpful and upon check out there was no one at the desk. We were greeted by a sign stating they would return in 15 minutes. We had to call to confirm check out and request a receipt. This was not the cheapest hotel in the area but should have been. We will not stay again. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
