I'm not sure where to start...
we went in with super low expectations, and were blown away. the views are amazing, the river beautiful, and the amenities are much better than expected.

We had two adjacent tent sites. each had plenty of room, and were equipped with a grill and firepit. we were lucky enough to have riverfront spots and it was soooo beautiful. I highly recommend them.

the campground is small enough to be intimate but large enough to give you your space.

The bathroom facilities are clean, tiled painted, and sundivided into individual rooms for extra privacy.

the pool is very clean and its heated.

there's a shop onsite with the basics and souvenirs.

Izzy and Dara were awesome hosts who work hard to keep the place up and checked in with us throughout our stay.
Our first night there the family had a lot of energy and excitement and the kids were being kind of loud by the fire. the hosts came by the site and asked us to quiet down for the enjoyment of others as it was after 10pm. I really respected them for this, and it reminded us to be more mindful.
You can tell they really enjoy their jobs and they were amazing.
All are able to enjoy their stay.
We felt very safe and very welcomed the entire time.

There is a white water rafting company on this property as well. it's far enough to the end of the property that it's not loud or a distraction from the scenery.
We took advantage and went on a trip down the river. Brooklyn was our guide. She did great with the family and we all really enjoyed having her as our guide. would probably request her of we were to go back (if that's even possible) She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and great with all ages.
this campground is kept clean, and everyone enjoyed their time. we had 2 families with kids ranging from 20 to 5. there was something for everyone.
There are many reviews about highway noise and thay is the ONLY downside. it's close to 40 and you can here cars/ trucks. it was there nut i didnt ruin our trip, and being that close to 40 puts you convienet to all the surrounding parks, dining and attractions.
would HIGHLY recommend this campground as well as the SMO river company to anyone asking. thanks for the great time!!

Hi, Skywalker. Thanks so much for the glowing review! We're glad you combined your camping trip with rafting next door. Private boaters would be happy to know that there is a private river access right on the property. Please come back and stay with us again.

This campground is amazing! We went tent camping and the little bamboo forest is super adorable and beautiful. The campsite is shady and looks out on the river. The bathhouses are ridiculously clean and the pool was so refreshing! I could really tell that Pigeon River Campground really takes pride in keeping their grounds clean and their guests happy. We will definitely be going back!

We stayed at the cabins at Pigeon River Campground on our weekend trip to enjoy the fall colors in the Smokies.

We chose the cabins since we lacked the equipment for camping in late October, but didn't want to stay too far from nature in a hotel in town either. We couldn't have been happier we stayed at Pigeon River Campground, since we got a cosy riverside cabin complete with a grill and fire pit (which we made good use of), in an easily accessible and well laid out location, all for a great price.

The restrooms were clean and easy to walk to, the store convenient, the staff warm and friendly, and the location perfect for drives to the numerous sights in the area.

We would have loved to stay longer, and will definitely be back soon!

I stayed at the camp sites for 2 nights a few weeks ago for the first time. I took a long roadtrip alone for my birthday celebration. I thought this place would be perfect for an outdoor getaway in the Smokies with white water rafting next door. Overall this place was the best camping place I've stayed at in my travels.

The staff was super nice every time I made contact with them in the store. Check-in was easy thanks to the staff helping me out with directions to my tent site. She answered all my questions. The tent site had a nice set-up area with a fire pit, grill, picnic table, and gravel spot for the tent. The view was very nice with the river flowing by.

My complaints though were loud traffic throughout the night for being so close to I-40, the trash collector dumping the dumpsters at 4am scaring me to death with the loud banging, tent sites were too close together with not much privacy, and the driveway had some big pot holes.

There are 6 private bathrooms with showers available to all campers. You are given a code to enter a private stall. Do not worry, there is a deadbolt so no one can enter. There is also a washer/dryer room next to it. Bring quarters or cash to use them along with your own products.

The location was very convenient with a nice drive to the surrounding cities in the area including the trails in the area. It was very affordable in the outdoors in my opinion. I would recommend staying 2 or 3 nights out here in the tent to take advantage of the outdoor activities nearby. There are cabins available for a better upgrade than a tent.

Overall I really did like staying here. Just the few loud noises with traffic and the dumpster at 4am. I am not a fan of gravel pads since it is hard to put up a tent on them. The staff was excellent for sure.

So glad you enjoyed your stay - and happy birthday! We do our best to maintain quiet hours, but there are certain things (like interstate traffic) that are beyond our control. Glad the service and the setting made up for it!

We stayed in one of the cabins, and it was fantastic! Very clean and well taken care of. I was expecting the beds to be super uncomfortable, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. The best part is clearly the bathrooms. There are several individuals bathrooms (separate from the cabins) with a private shower, sink, and toilet. Also kept very clean. They had wood and a few other necessities in the camp store. They also had board and lawn games you could borrow, which is super nice!

We stayed here in our 42 ft fifth wheel trailer. I would not say it was excellent. The sewer hookup, water, and electric is 30ft plus away. Bring at least 25-30 ft of sewer hose!! We had 15 which is normally plenty. We had to go 143 miles round trip to purchase another 15 ft from camping world to match what we had. The sites are pretty tight. Also bring plenty of blocks as the sites are not even close to level, all on a hill. (Tip) water don’t run up hill ie. sewer! Bath house nice, pavilion nice, staff was nice. Being on the river very nice. Only 12 RV spots and very close.
The cabins look very nice and are right on the river. It’s really not very close to anything but rafting. If you came to raft, this is the right place for sure!

Our family had a great stay and can’t wait to return! The two women in the office work hard to ensure the cleanliness of the campsite and bathrooms and go out of their way to make it a great experience. I was hesitant about the bathroom situation, but you’re given a code for a bathroom that includes a shower and never had to wait morning or night, and it was always clean. We went rafting with Smoky Mountain Outdoors (SMO), which is right next door, and had the best time!

Great small gem. Prices are on point, bathrooms are clean, and there is the sweetest dog named bear that will wander the campground saying hi. Only 40 minutes away from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Really easy white water rafting nearby.

Pigeon River Campground was an amazing place to camp. We were right on the river and in the back corner which was nice. The cars driving into the site didn't bother is. The campsites are nice with pads, a grill and a picnic table. They were a little closer together than I am used to but no one was loud so that was good. The bathrooms are amazing and the hot showers felt good after a day of hiking. As everyone mentioned, the noise of the truck traffic on I-40 was awful but with industrial earplugs, we were able to get a weeks worth of good sleep.
I highly recommend Pigeon River Campground for camping but bring earplugs!!

We had lots of trouble getting into our spot we had to have the neighbors move their truck just to back in our spot. The pads are concrete but not even close to level you can't back up very far cause the people behind you are to close. Neighbors sewer hose and water hose are across the only grass each site has. Had to go to Walmart and buy not 1 but 2 sewer hoses cause they are so far away. I40 is close and easy to get to but noisy. The shop is nice but seemed closed more then open. It was very clean with nice bathrooms and a nice pool but just to close together unless you tent camp and I can't speak for that side of the campground. All and all I probably wouldn't stay again.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The operating hours for the shop are clearly posted. Our campground managers do have to close the shop for a short time each day in order to clean bathrooms and cabins. We take your feedback seriously and are sorry you didn't enjoy your RV spot.
