We absolutely loved it. We stayed in the overlook cottage which was a spacious clean cottage with all the extras we could possibly need. The scenery was perfect and sitting around a fire with the sound of the two nearby creeks was much needed. With trails and waterfalls within walking distance, zip lining and paddle boarding within driving distance- we... More

Our cabin's name was breath taking views and it was. It was modern and clean. Very pretty. I would recommend it. A little hard to find at first but once you get used to all of the twists and turns, it's fine.

We stayed here for a weekend after a vacation down in Sky Valley Resort GA with friends. We wanted something more rustic and hidden with hiking nearby. We found just that. We decided to go with the Overlook Cottage so we could have A/C and I am glad because it was humid. It had all the dishes, etc we needed.The... More

Stayed for over a week with my two boys, age 12 and 10, while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. Resort quality lodging with hostel pricing! Wonderful staff, well stocked resupply store, and shuttles far or near. Boys had a blast trout fishing right out front of the resort. Never a shortage of fish to catch or woods to explore. Best stay... More

Great campground, the stream gently puts you to sleep, it is a beautiful place! We used the laundry and showers to clean up after hiking. Laural Falls is super! The resort owners were friendly and helpful.

Although the word "resort" is overly complimentary to this place, it is a wonderful property to stay at and visit. I stayed there with a group of 5 guys before section hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. The road to get there is very windy and curvy, but once you're there it's terrific. A perfect place to stay when spending... More

My family of 20+ people went here for a fall weekend. It was a bit difficult to get to, but thats expected from a good campground. The cabins were clean, rustic, and we couldnt ask for better lodging. The staff was friendly and more than willing to help. They even offered to stop working on a building so my baby... More

We stopped by the Black Bear Resort on a recent trip to Elizabethton. The resort looks delightful. Beautiful spot by the creek. We were pleasantly surprised by the different accommodations, from cottage to bunkhouse to campsites to conference center. Trees were just turning. Looked like a wonderful spot to "rough it"

“Rustic cabins have the least amenities and will sleep 4 to 6 comfortably, possibly more if you double up. If you want a mini fridge and private bathroom/shower with more legroom consider upgrading to the cottages. They are priced very, very reasonably.”
