Detailed Reviews
As COVID ruined our travel plans, we chose somewhere close to home to celebrate our anniversary. The resort is quite lovely - great landscaping and signage, plenty of seating, a beautiful pier, and non-stop water views.
We stayed in the Saltbox tiny home of Cardinal, which was picture perfect. Excellent lighting and so many windows! I think the only complaints we had was a sink faucet that was far too short for the sink bowl and trying to figure out how to work the AC/Heating unit (it was in the upper 80s one day and then the 50s another, so we had to switch the many settings). The deck was perfect. I've never seen so many butterflies in one space! I was surprised all the lodgings were so packed together. It was very much a campground atmosphere where you hear all your neighbors' conversations (though a very nice campground!). The resort is very compact.
We had several meals at the facility. Some of it was quite good. There was extremely lively entertainment, if you are looking for that. Masks were a rare sight amongst the restaurant staff. It was most definitely not enforced. We would thank those who DID wear a mask, it was so rare. That may or may not be a big deal to you, but we were extremely uncomfortable. However, there was hand sanitizer all over the facility and you could social distance most of the time.
We will definitely be back...just might do more grilling. :)

We stayed on the Largemouth house boat. It was very well appointed. I don't recall renting a holiday home that has Cuisinart ceramic knives in the knife drawer. The Keurig machine and complimentary coffees is so much better than traditional "coffee making facilities". You can opt for full room service where they service the room and make beds, opt for towel service only or no service at all.
Food quality in the restaurant is good, however not having malt vinegar available to accompany fish and chips was a disappointment, a shame because the cod was very good.
I appreciated the Tesla destination chargers, which made day trips in the surrounding countryside possible and we woke up with a fully charged car everyday.
Be aware that on Monday and Tuesday the city of Granville and the resort restaurant are closed. The rooms come with a fully equipped kitchen to allow you to prepare your own meals on those days. We weer delighted that the kitchen had a dishwasher as well.
WiFi covers most of the resort and grounds, service was available even at the end of the 1/4 mile boardwalk. Speeds were reasonable at 50 mpbs, adequate for remote workers on a retreat.

Jean, thank you for the wonderful rating and detailed review. We are glad to hear that you found our Largemouth houseboat comfortable and that you enjoyed all of the amenities. :-) I have to agree that the cod is delicious and thanks for your input. We will work on getting malt vinegar added to our condiment selections. For anyone reading your review, I just wanted to say that the Holston Cafe' is open 7 days a week and there are several quaint restaurants/libations as well as fast food options that are just a 20-minute drive from Wildwood. Thank you again! We look forward to your return visit. :-) —Sharon R.

I've been to Wildwood a few times now, and this was my first time staying in a Saltbox House. It was wonderful! They provide everything you need, including a peaceful setting, lots of privacy, and a beautiful view from a large back deck. I'm ready to go back every weekend! These houses provide the best option for in-room dining, because they have a stove, oven, and larger refrigerator. This is more important on the weekdays, when the on-site restaurant isn't open.

We have been to Wildwood in the past on day trips to visit the restaurant. The quality of the meals is really good and unexpected for such a relatively remote location.
We stayed n the Lakeside Inn facing the lake. It was a really relaxing and enjoyable stay. I booked dinner for both nights of our stay as well as the Sunday brunch. John definitely brings his Maryland sensibility to the menu and recipes. REAL lump crab crabcakes! Old Bay seasoned fries! Everything we ordered was spot on.
Our room was still new and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. It was nice to see so many local young people being given the chance to work in such a friendly, safe, and beautiful facility.
We took our binoculars and Audubon Field Guide to North American Birds and observed many species we do not typically see in our neighborhood. (We suggested that the resort keep a bird registry for guests to note the different birds they see while there)
We are planning on coming back with our family members to share with them what we experienced while there.

Thank you so much for leaving such a great review! We're continually striving for customer satisfaction and are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. A bird registry is a fantastic idea! There certainly are many different species of birds at Wildwood and it would be neat to learn what birds have been sighted in and around the campus. We hope that you visit us again soon. Have a great day! Sharon R.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Harbor Cottage. Above the top furnishings, quiet property. Our package included 2 1/2 day pontoon boat rentals which was just enough to get out on the water, and we didn't have to load our boat, trailer up there, then launch again when we returned home. We were able to take the motorcycle instead and enjoyed some back roads as well. Everyone was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. Houseboat was at the end of the dock and the view from the upper deck is the best on the property. We did get a sneak peek of the new land based cottages and they look fabulous as well (be sure to ask for a water view). We will certainly be making a return trip!

What a great 3 night stay at the new Harbor Cottage at Wildwood! My mother, my daughter and I enjoyed a 3 generation girl trip. We were the second set of guests to stay in the adorable “floating house”. The decor, the views, the outside spaces, the canoe, and everything in between were awesome. While construction continues toward the summer opening in June, the Harbor Cottage was the only lodging at the resort at this time and the relaxation was welcomed. We witnessed the building of new lodging and remodeling of the restaurant... we believe the additions will be pluses to an already nice place. The owner and staff could not be any friendlier or accommodating. We will be back!

Wildwood is a hidden Tennessee gem. Everything from the luxury rooms, rockers on the front porch, pontoon boats, kayak's, nightly fire pit and the extremely friendly staff screams southern hospitality. The Timberloft House of BBQ in Gordonsville & CrawDaddies in Cooksville are great local restaurants and the Timberloft crew will be opening the on-site restaurant with the grand opening so you will never have to leave the resort unless you want to visit the historic general store (1880) or go horseback riding. The only bad thing about Wildwood is once the grand opening takes place and word gets out about this romantic couples retreat, we will all have to book vacations months in advance. Just in case, I already booked my return.

The owners look like they've spent millions in renovations over the past few years. The dining area looks brand-new and the the food is as good as any top restaurant in Nashville. Our room in the lodge was a little small, and the bed was lower to the ground than we are used to, but overall, the rooms were comfortable and modern.
The staff was friendly, the sunset cruise was enjoyable. It's a gem. Nearby, but seems like we actually got a away for a bit.

I have passed Wildwood’s billboard hundred of times on 40 E on my way from Nashville to Cookeville to pick up my grandchildren... so glad I finally stopped and checked it out. Took my granddaughter for a short stay in Dolly one of their 5 Airstream’s for rent. Super comfy, with all the comforts of home except for a cooktop, stayed extremely cool inside and had a beautiful view of lake. We especially appreciated Becky and her dog Max, she was very helpful during our stay. The snack bar food was good but expensive, restaurant only opened on weekends. We kayaked, walked the pier, feed the fish, and just enjoyed nature. Only negative was we arrived a little early and was not allowed to check in before 3. If the space is clean and ready to rent let the guest in early... it’s just good customer service. Overall we had an awesome time. Will be back!

This is glamping at it’s best! Very comfortable,
& lovely accommodations. Restaurant food was great and service was even better. I have to thank the staff, they were all very pleasant! I do have to say that I don’t think much of those fancy bathroom sinks that sit on top, they are inconvenient.
