My sister and I visited Goodlettsville/Nashville last weekend 06/21-23/19, to visit my daughter who had recently relocated to Goodlettsville, TN. My sister travels quite frequently for her job and is an IHG Priority member and had booked our room at the Candlewood Suites, 800 Conference Drive, approximately three weeks prior to our arrival. During the time of the booking and the date of our arrival she called on 2-3 separate occasions to confirm reservation and make sure there were no changes. On the date of arrival she called the hotel about 2:00 p.m., when we were still about 30 minutes out; to see if we could check in early and was told that there were no early check-ins. Check in is at 3:00 p.m.. We were fine with that and arrived around 2:40 and were going to ask if they could hold our luggage. The person at the front desk, whose name we later found to be Demetria, was busy with another couple so we left and busied ourselves. Upon our arrival 3:30 p.m. we were told rather rudely by Demetria that our room was no longer available. Never mind that there didn’t appear to be a rush and the parking lot was relatively empty so we surmised that they did allow some people to check in early. There was also another person working the front desk named Nancy who had the same poor disposition and we were told that they could put us at the LaQuinta which was about 1.5 miles away. We said absolutely not, we have a confirmation number for this hotel and that they would have to fix it. They continued to tell us they had no other rooms as the reservation department overbooked to which we stated that was not our problem and they needed to fix it. I noticed a man standing around the lobby that I originally thought was another customer but it turns out he was Daniel McMillan, the Sales Manager. He accessed the computer and asked them about open rooms he was seeing and told them to book us into the rooms and Demetria at that point said “I’m leaving, I have to pick up my babies” without resolving our problem. My sister said “in other words she’s saying screw you”! Which is exactly how it seemed? I told my sister that it appeared that they’d overbooked the Candlewood in order to send people over to LaQuinta to try and fill up that hotel as well! It was unbelievable and such a failure in service. Demetria did end up staying and only after I mentioned putting on Trip Advisor did she soften her tone. The “fun/horror” didn’t end there! My sister’s room had crumbs on the floor and looked as if it was barely cleaned. When she called down to the front desk and asked to have someone come and sweep Nancy told her that “I don’t have a broom” and offered up nothing else. We ended up using Clorox wipes that I had brought along to wipe things down. My room was barely cleaner and had crumbs on the floor as well and also had some debris and a pill a previous customer had dropped, behind the bathroom door. Frightening when you think someone with a child could have had the room and the child ingested the pill. Also, upon awakening the next morning I tried to make it easier on the cleaning staff I encountered in the hall and stripped down the bed and put used towels on the floor. We left for the day and upon returning later that evening found the room as I left it with dirty linens on the floor. I called down to the front desk and was told by Nancy that they only clean once a week. I told her that I had no sheets on the beds or towels and she told me that “I COULD COME DOWN TO FRONT DESK AND PICK THEM UP”…seriously! I told her several times that I’d need a duvet cover and she told me “you’ll have everything you need” so down I went to pick up my own linens. At the front desk I was told that I’d need to bring all of my dirty linen down to the front desk. At that point I was over it and told her that I would do no such thing and when they came up to the room to clean they could pick it all up at that time. She neglected to give me a towel so I asked for one and she gave me a look as if I was totally asking for way too much. Upon returning to the room I discovered that I was missing the duvet. This made me feel that her telling me “you’ll have everything you need” was her way of saying, I’ll give you what I want to give you! Unbelieveable!! I must say that I’ve traveled quite a bit myself, throughout the country/world and have never been treated as poorly as we were by Demetria and Nancy. It would serve them well to go through rather intensive hospitality/customer service training. The Candlewood Suites, Goodletsville/Nashville appears to be a fairly new hotel and I would think it is trying to build its customer base/brand/reputation. With those two as the first people the customer encounters the brand/reputation will be built and it will not be positive. There is way too much nearby competition to be foolhardy enough to think that people will put up with this lack of service/care for the customer. As I mentioned earlier, my daughter just recently moved to Nashville. I have a large family and friend base and we plan to visit Nashville quite often. Having said that I will have to say that I will never stay at this hotel again and will tell any and everyone I know the same. If you want poor service and a bad attitude by the Front Desk staff then this is the place for you. If not, you’d do well to stay at any one of the other nearby hotels that values its customers.

I hosted a business mtg last week and booked 5 rooms at this hotel for the participants. I called the hotel to be sure everything was set and they confirmed it was. However, one of the partcipants from out of town arrived and was told the property was overbooked and they sent him packing with no assistance at all. I can't recommend this hotel.

We had a reservation during Cmafest for which we paid in full in March, 2019. After a long day of travel, we arrived at the Candlewood Suites to be told by Manager Deacon that there was a problem and he had left me a message - which he did not. The hotel had sold our room! Are you kidding? Who does that? He was happy to send us to the La Quinta, but there would be no refund or price adjustment. Horrible, horrible service. And where to find a different hotel during Cmafest? Fortunately, the Comfort Inn and Suites had a cancellation and was happy to accommodate us. Do not trust this place. It took another 30 minutes to get a full refund and we ended up leaving at about 2:00 am. Would never, ever recommend.

This hotel is nice for people who need longer stays. We were here for 3 days and there was no housekeeping service. We actually had to take our used towels to the front desk in order to get clean ones! We also had to dispose of our trash at the front desk. (If I wanted to do that I would have stayed home) Also, no breakfast buffet in the morning. I picked this hotel because I thought it was cheaper than the ones I usually stay at but it really wasn't and I didn't get the amenities that I really like. I also noticed the staff were not very friendly and hardly ever looked up from front desk.

Upon check in our room floors had crumbs, hair still in the bathroom and a dead bug, and had to wipe front of counters myself because they were crusty. We requested they come clean them and several hours when they hadn’t after complaining they did move us to another room. The next morning when I went to make coffee the pod from the previous guest use was still in the coffee pot. Then my husband went to take and shower and there was no shampoo or bath soap in the shower dispensers and when I called down I was told they were out. Got lots of attitude from the manager. The girl that worked later when I explained to her what was going on simply reached in a drawer and handed me a bar of soap. The manager was a deliberate jerk to me refusing to give us soap.
