We decided to stay here due to our visit at the Jack Daniels distillery and were glad we did. We couldn't fault our night here. The location is good for the distillery and it was a welcoming change to be in the country during our road trip. The room was spacious, comfortable and had lots of character. The shower was... More

As a surprise, I drove my boyfriend out to spend the day at Lynchburg and because he misses the farm back home in WI, I chose the Old Dr. Cox Farm B&B. We were so happy with the farm, we can't wait to go back again. It was warm, cozy, relaxing and comfortable. The couple who runs the farm are... More

I was only looking for a place to crash after spending the day at the Jack Daniel's Distillery, but what I found was a little piece of heaven just a few minutes from Lynchburg. The couple who run the B&B are two of the sweetest people you'll meet. They were incredibly welcoming to me upon arrival, and perfectly respectful in... More

My fiance is a longtime fan of Jack Daniels, so for his birthday we traveled to the distillery to take the tour. After reading reviews on this site, I chose The Old Dr. Cox Farm Bed and Breakfast. The reviews are all completely accurate. This working farm produces some of the most amazing breakfasts, preserves, and salsa that you will... More

Our recent trip to southern Tennessee was made especially wonderful by choosing this original warm and personel B&B. Our hosts, John and Paula, exhibited the kindest hospitality I've experienced in all my years of travel. They greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm as if we were long-lost relatives. Our family felt very comfortable staying there and in all honesty it... More

If you are looking for a piece of heaven in the Tennessee hills, look no further than this Bed and Breakfast, tucked away in the rolling countryside outside of Lynchburg, Tennessee. My husband and I traveled to Lynchburg and opted to stay the night at a Bed and Breakfast instead of a hotel. There aren't many hotel options in this... More

My husband and I came up from Atlanta to tour the Jack Daniels Distillery (totally worth it) and I thought it would be more fun to try a local B&B than one of the over touristy nearby hotels. What good luck it was that we chose the Old Dr. Cox Farm B&B! The private house sits on 80 pastoral acres... More

Our stay at The Dr. Cox Farm B&B was very relaxing and had a most comfortable bed. The owners John and Paula were very hospitable and we enjoyed pleasant conversations with both of them at the breakfast table with a different menu every day. The tasty and original breakfasts were expertly prepared. The owners also added pickled okra, pear, peach... More

John and Paula are gracious and personable hosts, opening their home and hearts to their guests. Conversation was easy and friendly as though we had known each other for years. The breakfast was AMAZING and the house/grounds are beautiful. Thank you John and Paula for taking such good care of us~

As others have stated, this was the most comfortable bed we slept in during our vacation. John and Paula were most gracious and we really enjoyed talking with them. Breakfast was delicious. We didn't eat again until dinner and were given a pint of yummy pickled okra to take home. Started our diet after the visit so I can fit... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in the 1840's, the farm once served as a Confederate Civil War hospital. Later it was used as a cattle farm, a dairy farm, and pasture land. Today the Old Dr. Cox Farm is also a working cattle farm with a variety of cows and all the activity that is necessary on a farm. In the farming community everyone is welcome and often times a local farmer or two might stop in for a cup of coffee and a visit with our company. During your stay at Dr. Cox Farm, you are welcome to explore the old farmhouse and grounds. There is a fireplace in every room. The wood floors are original as are the doors, ceilings and grand entrance hall. In the front yard, under the grand Magnolia tree you will see the recently marked gravesite of Aaron Gage, a revolutionary war soldier. There is a beautiful view of the Tennessee country side in all directions. You are welcome to explore the entire farm from pastures to woods. Accompany John on his morning farm chores, where most of the cows are really friendly. During your stay here at the Farm, you can choose to stay in the "Magnolia Room", which has a beautiful view of the majestic old magnolia tree in the front yard. This room features a king size bed and sitting area. You may wish to stay in the "Quilt Room". This room features a king size bed and sitting area. The collection of antique quilts and other memorabilia will take you back to the days of quilting circles and Grandma's house. ... more   less
