John and Paula are the two most accomodating, generous, and kind people we have ever encountered at a B and B. A stay at their home is like visiting friends. Their property is truly a large farm complete with barn, cows and calves, homegrown fruits and vegetables, crisply ironed bed linens, a hot tub off the back porch, a kitty... More

I spent my second night in the USA, recently here at this most wonderful location in Southern Tennessee. The owners John and his wife Paula are really fantastic hosts, and go all the way to ensure that their Guests have a wonderful stay here. They are engaging and sweet and take good care of you. The rooms are beautiful and there is so much history to absorb in the house. The food... More

The hosts were wonderful and very accomodating to our arrival situation and requested breakfast hour the next morning. The room was very comfortable and clean, as was the entire home. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Truly enjoyed the farmhouse atmosphere. We would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast! It is a true taste of Tennessee! Thanks to you both... More

My wife and I stayed one night on our way across country. We thought it would be fun to visit the Jack Daniel's distillery. As we pullwed up, the neighbor's dog, Jake, welcomed us. Paula greeted us at the door and gave us a nice tour. You could spend hours looking at all the antiques that they have acquired. We... More

Our stay at the Old Dr. Cox Farm was absolutely one of the warmest welcomes we have ever experienced in our travels. This isn't just a bed & breakfast , it's more of a visit, giving the history of their well preserved home built in the 1800's . Another added touch is being very informative of the surrounding area. Breakfast... More

My girlfriend and I went to visit the Jack Daniels distillery and found this place on their website. We absolutely loved every second of it. From the moment we got there, it felt like we were just guests in Paula and John's house. John let us help feed the cows and told us all about the farm. He is also... More

Our stay here was one of the best we had on our month long tour of America. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in the 1840's, the farm once served as a Confederate Civil War hospital. Later it was used as a cattle farm, a dairy farm, and pasture land. Today the Old Dr. Cox Farm is also a working cattle farm with a variety of cows and all the activity that is necessary on a farm. In the farming community everyone is welcome and often times a local farmer or two might stop in for a cup of coffee and a visit with our company. During your stay at Dr. Cox Farm, you are welcome to explore the old farmhouse and grounds. There is a fireplace in every room. The wood floors are original as are the doors, ceilings and grand entrance hall. In the front yard, under the grand Magnolia tree you will see the recently marked gravesite of Aaron Gage, a revolutionary war soldier. There is a beautiful view of the Tennessee country side in all directions. You are welcome to explore the entire farm from pastures to woods. Accompany John on his morning farm chores, where most of the cows are really friendly. During your stay here at the Farm, you can choose to stay in the "Magnolia Room", which has a beautiful view of the majestic old magnolia tree in the front yard. This room features a king size bed and sitting area. You may wish to stay in the "Quilt Room". This room features a king size bed and sitting area. The collection of antique quilts and other memorabilia will take you back to the days of quilting circles and Grandma's house. ... more   less

“Only two large rooms are available, both upstairs, with two bathrooms. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves with lots of sweet family mementos to look at. The early summer rain on the tin roof was wonderful. The house is sturdy and strong and very welcoming.”
