This was a beautiful hotel with lots of historical finds inside. The junior suite we had was nice and roomy. The bed was comfortable and the view was nice. The indoor pool was refreshing. But, there were some negatives. The noise from outside was very loud even being on a higher floor. The A/C was very old and loud. There... More

We are currently staying at the Read House and we brought along our two dogs. The receptionist, Hannah, called my cell phone to let me know there had been a noise disturbance called in about barking dogs in our room. She then threatened to kick us out if we could not get them under control. I was so taken aback... More

Pros: The mattresses were like marshmallows-could almost swallow you up. For those who don't like very soft mattresses--this isn't your bed. The pillows were large and comfortable. The location was steps away from the shuttle for the "happening" part of Chattanooga and catty-corner from the excellent City Diner. Didn't use the gym but it was fully outfitted-same for the pool.... More

Nice decor throughout the hotel, however my room the first night didn't have any hot water. Called the front desk to complain and they said engineer said trick was to turn on sink and tub at same time. Really? In a 3 star hotel? Trick didn't work to say the least. Offered to give me another room but this was... More

Ten years ago I said never again but went against my better judgement. Checking in the guest in front of me complained about the snarky desk agent and the manager made excuses for his bad attitude. I should have known then to leave. They didn't honor my adjoining room request despite making my reservation through AMEX Platinum travel months before.... More

My husband and I wanted a nice hotel experience in the heart of Chattanooga for our short anniversary getaway. The Read House was a slightly expensive hotel, but was worth it for the beautiful architecture and decor of the facilities, the close proximity to most restaurants and sites in downtown Chattanooga, and the friendly staff. The entire building, especially the... More

Second time staying at the Read House. Great location for downtown Chattanooga and all it has to offer. Close to free trolley pickup. Indoor pool. Nice workout room. Very impressed on our first stay. The second time our room was a little more "worn". Fee for valet parking but suppose one could do the public lots for less. my only... More

I stayed at this hotel while on a short business trip to the area. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was a nice size, however it was definitely dated and needs some updating. The lobby was large and had a full size Starbucks which was a bonus. I tried to take a warm shower in the morning... More

I stayed here on business and we had a great negotiated rate but I would not stay here again. I had some sort of suite in the new section. My room was HUGE but it was super out dated and gawdy. It also smelled like it could use a good deep cleaning. The bathroom is also outdated and was small... More
