Upon check in we were greeted with a smile and some appreciated guidance on parking and dinner options as we were arriving after 9pm. We chose the valet and so glad we did!! Those young men were so polite, helpful, and very respectful. We chose to eat in-house at Bridgeman’s Chophouse at almost closing time and again we were treated with nothing but friendliness. The host was very nice, welcoming us with assurance that we were not too late to order and our waiter was patient with us, explaining the menu, the various items, cracking jokes, and making us feel appreciated. The food was incredible! Back at the room (we stayed in the historic tower) the bathroom was beautiful and modern, the room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Every one of the Starbucks employees that I spoke to were just as friendly as everyone else we came in contact with. There are not enough good things to say about The Read House. The whole experience restored my faith in humanity. Thank you ❤️

The room was very nice, but since the pandemic, no services at all. And the food service, terrible. Food quality, NO. Would not recommend the food at all. Slow, cold and inedible. And of course, then dealing with the food bill was an extra 30 minute wait...

We have stayed at the Read House several times before and during the renovations. We were absolutely blown away with the improvements. We had a king suite in the historic tower. Our corner room (516) had 3 windows! It was spacious and luxurious. Honestly if you are not happy here, I don’t know what you are looking for. Service by every single person from the front desk to housekeeping to maintenance (we passed in the hall) to restaurant staff was exemplary. Decor is simply jaw-droppingly beautiful and a must-see for any history buff or anyone who appreciates Gatsby-like luxury. Indoor pool area and lounge was nice too. We booked on their website under a special promo which gave us a $25 dining credit and 2 glasses of champagne. The price was the same or better than other booking sites so definitely check their website for rates. The on-site steakhouse was phenomenal as well. We will be back!

I absolutely loved this historic hotel. We stayed in a spacious tower room, which was beautiful. The decor throughout the hotel takes you back to the 20’s. The location was also great. Centrally locates downtown and the shuttle picks up just out front. I would come back to Chattanooga just to stay here again!

Really loved staying here - walking in to the beautiful hotel was a delight. We enjoyed the historic tower rooms with large windows with great city views and trees outside our windows. Going to the bar and steakhouse were wonderful experiences. It is so cool to be in the middle of a cool city with places to walk to - breakfast places, coffee places, riverwalk.
