3.5 Display History. No pictures w story and history of historic building in the hallways or foyer. All fountains should be operable and clean. I accidentally dropped strawberries on walk- way; three days later picked them up myself because no one else did. Blue hotel site needs cleaning and painting. Steps need scraping and painting. Should advertise pool is closed due to CORONA. Renovate and Update to be worth price paid since Kinley across the street is about the same price. Faculty were nice.
The property was great. Only minor complaint is the walls are kind of thin in the McArthur building. Not much they can do about it though for an older building. Loved the distillery and restaurants on site. You do need to pay for parking overnight but it’s not bad. Paid around $15 for two nights. They charge the card on file automatically so you don’t need to mess with a parking kiosk or meter. I’d like to return to stay in the train cars (unavailable due to covid and the shared ventilation system they share). Overall a great weekend getaway.
Highly recommend , will most definitely be revisiting The Choo Choo. Very friendly and courteous staff and the restaurants and bars were top notch in my book. Overall a wonderful experience and a safe environment to enjoy some of Chattanooga’s nightlife.
Loved our two-night stay at the Choo Choo! There are great restaurants on site and within walking distance of the hotel. Just about a ten minute drive to most of the attractions - Ruby Falls, Rock City, zoo, etc. Check out the Gate 11 Distillery (on site) for great cocktails & live music. The craft beer train car for sampling local craft beers is also on site. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. Beds were comfortable and the shower had great pressure! Perfect for our weekend stay!
The historic venue made for a neat stay. The on-site arcade and Frothy Monkey restaurant were enjoyable. The rooms are back behind the station in a former Holiday Inn, so they aren't very historic and the walls were pretty thin. We had loud neighbors, but the staff asked them to quieten down and they did. However, it was very clean, and the service was good.
