Enjoy your stay in Chattanooga!
My wife and I loved our all too short stay. We would definitely love to return. The house was amazing and had a very luxurious feel. The breakfast and service was incredible. Not the place to go if you want modern lodgings. But if you like history and enjoy the idea of staying in a turn-of-the century mansion, this is the place to go. Plus, there's so much to see and do in Chattanooga.
This beautiful Bed and Breakfast far exceeded my expectation. When traveling, ( this includes overseas) my usual choice is a hotel, never a B&B but this one was probably one of the nicest places I have stayed. The beauty of the Inn just walking in is awe inspiring with all the details in each room. You are greeted with a fall tree decorated that will most likely later be decorated for Christmas. There is a nice area for breakfast along with numerous sitting areas, one being where you can watch movies at night. My room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed that included a deep mattress that you would not find in most hotels. The breakfast each morning included 3 perfect size portions of yogurt, eggs and fruit. The staff was very professional. There is no elevator which I had no problems with (its 3 stories) but if you can't climb steps you may need to look elsewhere but I do highly recommend staying here if possible. The location is perfect, in the historic Fort Hood area not far from the main attractions Chattanooga has to offer.…
My husband and I were up in Chattanooga to pick up a car, and when looking for places to stay over night I came across this B&B. Before booking I called to confirm they could accommodate our truck and trailer, which they said they would! On arrival we had to move a car to fit in nicely in the parking lot but we were surprised how well they worked with us especially hauling a 25ft trailer. Upon getting that situated, we checked in, got a tour around the B&B, then was brought to our room. We stayed in the Lookout Mountain Suite RM 32. It was a great room, very clean. It had all the bathroom linen that you would need, came with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Bed was super comfortable and robes were hung neatly in the closet. We loved hanging out in the front porch with our complementary beverages (such as water, sodas, or tea/coffee) Breakfast was wonderful the next morning started with water, juice, and coffee, a yogurt, then a orange muffin, bell pepper quiche with sausage, then a small bowl of fruit. It was a light breakfast but I felt like it was fulfilling. After breakfast we went back to the porch until it was time for us to leave. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, police station very close to it’s location. Felt very safe walking around at night. Overall we hate it was only one night, and we can’t wait to come back!…
We absolutely love B&B’s, this was by far the worst we’ve ever had. Our room was not clean, food was left behind in the fridge, we had to ask for robes because they never restocked those (we had empty hangers with a sign not to wear the robes outside the room). The 4 course breakfast was the furthest thing from courses, and not so yummy at all. We had a sunset cruise and a couples massage prebooked. When we arrived we were given zero instructions about them and when it was time for our in room couples massage, we had one masseuse (she was great). Needless to say it was not a couples massage, it was two separate massages. Will never come back, and would never recommend this place.
We stayed 2 nights at this lovely inn on a weekend getaway to Chattanooga. The mansion is breathtaking in its architectural detail, the high ceilings, intricate moldings, parquet floors, and beautiful decor. It feels like Downton Abbey—-very elegant and luxurious. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. If there was a way to turn on either of the elaborate bedside lamps, we never did discern it——a minor thing. It was quite cool at night, and you have no way to regulate the temp. We found a blanket in the closet. There is a sizable selection of DVDs in the library and a DVD player in each room, but no instructions on how to use these things. Despite being familiar with TVs, remotes, etc. at home, we never did get the DVD to play. The breakfast room is beautifully appointed, and the presentation of the food shows great attention to detail. They choose to serve it in courses, so one must be patient between courses. It began with water, juice and coffee, then yogurt, followed by a pastry, followed by an entree, and finally a very small fruit cup. No additional portions were offered, and while it was all tasty, it was a small breakfast. The first day we were there the entree was 2 sausage patties and 3 small pancakes. The second day was 2 small mini quiches and a very small portion of kielbasa. The fruit cup is beautifully sliced and presented, but ice cold out of the refrigerator, which greatly diminishes the taste of the fruit. These are just observations—overall, we were delighted with our stay. There were always refreshments offered during the day, cake or cookies, hot tea, and soft drinks available. They were generous with suggestions for restaurants and activities. The mansion has a lovely spaciously appointed porch on which to lounge, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped.…
Mayor's Mansion Inn is very beautiful and charming. The staff were all exceedongly friendly, the food was delicious, and our room was really cozy and cute! Our visit was wonderful and relaxing, and we will be sure to visit again.
We were sad to only spend a single night at the Inn, and completely enjoyed it. We opted for the honeymoon room and it had wonderful high ceilings, a very comfortable bed, and was beautifully appointed. We loved the large, comfortable (and clean) bathtub. Breakfast was modest, but in a luxurious setting and nicely presented. The staff were all fantastically helpful and gracious. On site parking, and a safe neighborhood (literally adjacent to a police station) were a plus. It was easy to walk to areas of interest and the pedestrian bridge - which was a highlight of the evening. So far, on an extended trip exploring TN, this has been the highlight.
Like most places, they are struggling to find help, and it showed a bit with a check-in process that lacked a welcome and needed information. However, after that the rooms were great and the friendly atmosphere saved the experience.
Mayors Manor Inn is hands down my favorite place to stay in Chattanooga. So quaint, quiet and beds are comfortable. Just minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Definitely our go to spot. Highly recommend the Chattanooga Room but you will not be disappointed in any room you choose...all are equally amazing!
We stayed in room 24, The Chickamauga Suite, for 3 nights over the long holiday weekend, and we enjoyed our entire trip! Upon check-in, we were given a tour of the inn, which is beautiful. There is a nice parking lot, so unloading our things was easy. We had booked the "gold package" and had scheduled the in-room couples massage for shortly after we arrived. I can't complain because it worked out well for me, but only one massage therapist came to the room. So instead of a couples massage, it would have been 2 individual massages. My husband let me have them both. The therapist professional and friendly and worked out my knots very well. As part of the gold package, we also had chocolate covered strawberries there waiting for us. They were juicy and sweet and perfect. The package also included a sunset cruise with champagne & a charcuterie board. There was a brief hiccup when we boarded the boat, because we weren't actually booked for the package. One of the boat staff members looked it up and found that the inn had added the package in the notes but had not actually reserved it. But they were very quick to fulfill it for us, and we had a lovely time. Breakfast at the inn was wonderful, too. There were multiple courses served to us while seated at a table in the Tiffany dining room. The presentation of the food rivaled any high-class restaurant, and we were full and happy when we left. While we didn't have any special requests, we heard the staff easily change meals for people who had allergies or dietary restrictions. The staff were all very friendly, but Grace & Daniel were definitely the best! We would certainly stay here again if we are in the Chattanooga area, and we highly recommend it to anyone!…
