I had no idea this was a part-time job, family owned operation. Upon arriving at 2:00 p.m. the front door was locked. That's a first. The numbers listed on the permanent plaque by the door netted zero results. I left messages at all, disappointed we were unable to check-in, freshen up from our 4.5 hour drive before a party. We...

Ever arrived at your destination and at first glance you're thinking to yourself, "This is one of those rare hidden gems I've heard people talk about"? This best describes our recent stay at the Walton Hotel. Built in 1904, it has been painstakingly restored in every detail by its owners, Digger and Marie Poindexter. From the moment you walk through...

Upon calling was guaranteed a room without up front cost. Was received well and received 2 rooms for 91.00 on a Friday night. Where everything else Was either booked up or cost 200.00 or more for room. This place is like a bed & breakfast. Wonderfully decorated and very clean and comfy beds. Would recommend this to anyone in the...

This hotel is very quiet and comfortable. The owner was helpful with area information and we really enjoyed our visit with her. My husband and I were disappointed to find out that the restaurant had been closed as we were hoping to dine here. We called from Nashville which is about 45 minutes away and the owner said that she...

I am always looking for something a little different when we go on vacations and I found the Walton online. When I called to make a reservation for myself and my husband and another couple we were traveling with, the owner told me to call her if she wasn't there when we arrived. We called and she was there in...

What a find! Well appointed room and bath in a recently remodeled 1904 hotel set in beautiful Carthage Tenn. We were the only ones in the hotel on a Sunday evening which felt a little odd but the owner slept in a room behind the front desk so we were fine. The AC was off and it took a while...

Several of my fellow classmates and I stayed at the Hotel Walton for a class reunion. We couldn't have been treated more like family! From the spotless accommodations to the personal attention, we all had a wonderful time. We had hot coffee and continental breakfast in the morning, served in the upstairs dining room, and full dining room service offered...
