While camping with our travel trailer at Defeated Creek Corp of Engineers RV campground we decided to rent a pontoon boat at this marina. We picked the afternoon half day (1:30 to 5:00) We had full run of the lightly traveled waterway. The personnel and boat were as expected and made for an enjoyable afternoon.
One of the nicest Corp properties around. Nice people, good area, excellent value. Some have said bad cell service. Well it’s not exactly 5G but it works now and then. The sites are all laid out well and offer nice views of the lake &/or country side.
Love this campground it is so pretty there. The only thing that makes it ugly is the campground host . we walked across his campsite when we were there . He came out of his camper raging and screaming for us to GET OFF HIS PROPERTY He said he owned it and no one was allowed to set foot on it. He definitely has rage issues Appears that he has always verbally abused women . Also did not know you can own a lot in a federal campground. If you can handle a nasty old man the it is a beautiful area Lake has a lot of logs floating on water so you have to avoid them when boating.
Love this campground so beautiful have only camped 2 times there It is very hard to get in almost impossible on weekends During the week is easier. Lake is so peaceful and relaxing. Managers are very helpful we had to leave 1 day early because of storm damage trees we down every where and they we doing clean up
Its a beautiful campground very clean and right on the lake. We have a boat at the marina permanently and the fishing is terrific. The lake never has more then a handful of boats on it very quiet. So glad we found this place.
Its a beautiful place, dont get me wrong but the water was nasty and there is no cell service at all. We walked around the whole campground and marina and finally gave up. There was no where that we could find to help with the problems. We read that there were computers you could use? Never found them either. Will not come back.
Nice clean sites and bath houses. beautiful views of the lake from many sites. They have several sites that are walkups, but most are reserved and fill up fast. Easy access off of I-40, and good roads to get you to the campground. Will be going back soon!!
Cleanest, most well taken care of camp ground my family and I have ever attended. These folks take pride in their job of taken care of campground for campers. Easy access to get into the camp ground and easy pull in sites with full hookups. The lake is beautiful and they have pontoon boats for rent as well as jet skies for a great time on the water.
We loved the campground. Very clean, quite and gorgeous views. The only problem we had was they were having computer problems and we couldn't come in a day before due to that. Would have loved to have stayed more than 1 day. Hopefully they can assist the host to figure out what to do when computers are down to still get accommodate campers. Can't wait to go back.
This was another wonderful trip to our favorite campground. This trip we stayed at lot 49 on Cordell Hull Lake. The lot was gravel, level and had full hookups. Every time we have visited her, the ground are immaculate. Verizon cell service was excellent. We have a return trip scheduled for October.
