My wife and I were looking to get away to a quiet place for a couple of days for her birthday. I stumbled across the Walker Inn on the internet, and I definitely hit a home run. The home is beautiful, well-maintained, and comfortably furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cody's breakfast was outstanding - among the very best we've had in many years of B&B visits. We arrived right as the Covid restrictions were imminent, and we especially appreciate being accommodated so well, as it would have been easy and understandable for them to have cancelled our reservation. Instead, they went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and the environment safe. We enjoyed our stay immensely and look forward to visiting again in the future.
In the very small town of Bell Buckle there is an old Victorian house called the Walker Inn. It is a delightful bed and breakfast. We were greeted by the owners son who gave us a little tour. He explained that we were free to borrow books from the nice library, we could grab a snack and drink in the tv room, and of course, we could order breakfast. There are several, rooms closed off to guests which house laundry facilities and various other things that are only of interest to the owners. Our room was immaculate; clean and well appointed. Everything we needed for our short stay was there. The fireplace was a nice touch although we didn’t need it. The only complaint is that the bed made a sound like crinkled potato chip bags every time you moved. No big deal. We LOVED the Keurig coffee machine in the hallway upstairs by our room! There were several types of coffee and tea pods. There were instant cocoa packages that you could make too. Unfortunately there were no decaf selections but a quick trip to Kroger fixed that. In the breakfast room there were selections of cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, milk, hot water for tea and cocoa, plus a large carafe of coffee. He asked that we order breakfast the night before. You could order eggs any way you like them with bacon, sausage, toast, and fruit. You could even order a smoothie. The son made us breakfast since the normal caretaker was on vacation the week we were there. The meal was done to our liking and filled us up. We used the tv room a couple of nights and watched some Netflix shows. It was easy to navigate the controls and select our options. The couch in that room was comfortable with a nice throw over the back to cuddle up in. Along with the soda in the small fridge there was wine and snacks on the buffet. There is a small container for donations if you like, but it was not mandatory. If you want ice, you can go into the kitchen and get it from the refrigerator. There was a basket of fruit on a counter there, but we weren’t sure if we could take any. We didn’t need the fruit so I totally forgot to ask about it the next day. They were so nice that I’m sure they would have let us take some. We met the owner one night. She took time to warmly greet us and tell us about the history of the house. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back next time we visit our family in Shelbyville.…
The breakfast was AMAZING! I had a late check-in and so they prepared the "standard" country breakfast and it was phenomenal! Thick cut bacon, eggs, artisan toast, hash brown casserole, fresh pears and berries! The location is perfect and is walking distance to everything in Bell Buckle. The rooms and bathrooms are updated and clean, but still have that Victorian charm. Sydney was so attentive and welcoming. There were complimentary drinks out the whole time, so I was able to get a great cup of coffee when I woke up early. I visit once a year for work, and now I will never stay anywhere else.
My wife and I chose to spend our 1 Year Anniversary in quiet Bell Buckle to just get away for a night. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay than The Walker Inn. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the were complimentary drinks available which was unexpected and awesome. The breakfast that we had on Saturday morning was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back. Thank you for such an amazing stay.
My sister and I stayed at The Walker Inn while visiting Bell Buckler, Tennessee last week. We found it to be absolutely charming. The home was immaculate, offering a wonderful breakfast that was included with our stay. Sydney was there to see to our comfort and to oversee the beautiful old victorian home. She was very sweet and helpful. I have recommended The Walker to all my friends and will definitely be staying there in the future since it's not that far off of Interstate 24 when driving to and from Florida. I might add there are charming fire places in most rooms, that have a remote controlled heater that adds to the ambiance of the beautiful rooms.
