The old saying about getting what you pay for got us this time. We got a great price but the lobby and our room had a strong unpleasant odor. Could have used some Fabreeze. Beds were pretty good but pillows were terrible. Would pay more and stay somewhere else next time.

After a 20 minute check-in (lost reservation), we went to one of the dreariest rooms I've ever stayed in. The bed could have been worse, but I was very disappointed to have actually researched a bit to come up with this! Bad start to what was actually a great vacation.

PROS: Good location, Friendly desk attendant (although English was an issue), Never felt unsafe, Wi-fi worked CONS- Reeked of bad food smells, Dirty room (hair in shower and sink, sticky juice or something on nightstand), No mention of breakfast (not that we would have eaten anything), Overall gross

I think we may have been the only ones there, besides the family that owns it. It was very quiet. I imagine it would be a lot louder if school was in. We checked in late, but they were prepared for us. You do have free wifi, but they have to give you a code. They did not give that... More

Nice room. Very roomy. Excellent king bed. It took awhile to cool off because the A/C was completely off. If I knew about the A/C I would have gone to dinner while it was cooling. Once the room cooled off it was really very nice.

Our room was comfortable, but the place, as a whole is really getting run down and dingy. Several different devices in our room were either unplugged or needed some kind of managing before they would work properly. The manager was very good about coming and fixing them. A very nice man. On the same score, the breakfast was almost abominable.... More

The Prairie Inn looked quite nice from the outside but it seems pretty run down. The owner could not have been nicer responding to our needs, however. The breakfast buffet was pretty awful. The milk curdled and the butter was rancid. No hot water, no tea bags, messy environment. I wish I could say something nice but afraid I cannot.

First stayed here 3 years ago and I was impressed for a small rural hotel. Stayed here again this past month and I was disappointed. Walls were noticeably dirty, light switch in the bathroom had to be wiggled to work, sheet rock was rotting by the shower and had been covered up with masking tape and paint (which was peeling).... When I made our reservation I was told we could make use of our CLC membership rate but once there, since there was a large event in town, we had to pay full price which was $103. We've had better stays in $60 a night rooms. For two of us the room was stocked with just two very thin bath... More

This conveniently located hotel is just fine. For an independent hotel, I found the price to be too high. Our first floor room was clean and roomy, but there were some poorly repaired spots on the wall in the bathroom that I would not expect in a $100/night room. That, combined with just two pillows per bed, and old-school blankets... More
