Outside of state parks, I haven't stayed at a commercial campground for over 40 years, so I don't have a good reference point to compare Rush No More against other campgrounds. However, I had a good stay here and would go back again. Next time, however, I'll plan ahead better and make a reservation further in advance to try to get a tent spot closer to the restrooms or to try to reserve a cabin. First of all, this campground is a couple of miles off of the interstate, which is a plus for me because I have never thought it was appealing to stay in a campground where you can see and hear all the traffic noise. There are quite a few common sites that are shady. Some of the RV campsites are nicely shaded with a fair amount of space between the sites. However, most of the RV campsites seemed to be in open areas where the campers line up side by side without a lot of space in-between. There is a nice playground for kids, a pool and hot tub (I didn't try either). I tent camped, and didn't get my reservation in until rather late, but they made room for me at a spot that was kind of distant from the majority of the campground, but it was quiet, pretty and had shade. I went for the Blackhills Bluegrass Festival, so the campgound was full to capacity. The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. There were several campgound employees that drove around on golf-carts, making sure the restrooms and shower buildings were cleaned. Despite being so busy, the employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful.

We loved our “back 40” RV site at this campground. The RV parking pads are carved into a hillside, so you look out over the top of your neighbor’s rig instead of into their windows. The whole area is surrounded by trees, it’s super quiet at night, and the campground is very well maintained. There’s a pool and bar in the center of camp. Local musicians gather here so there’s live music mid-week.

Sites are CLEAN! With nice amenities. We travel to Seattle from Columbus Ohio every other year. This park is a great stay! They have a multitude of pull through sites along with with big "back in" where I wouldn't have to unhitch my trailer (30') if I wa just passing through

I have nothing good to say about this campground.

From the first time we stopped to check in, my husband had a very bad experience with the customer service. Reserving the RV site was a huge hassle for my husband because of miscommunication that had occurred in their end. We were told we could cut of $20 since it was such a hassle for him. When he arrived to check in and pay the bill, the owner flat out embarrassed him, refused to give him the discount he was promised (he even has an email confirming the cost). He was SO SO rude and everyone who witnessed the encounter was appalled.

We made a trip out using our RV while my other extended family stayed in cabins. Together, we had lots of kids ranging from 2months old to 13yo. This place was NOT kid friendly at all. They were constantly yelling at our kids telling them not to do this or that. They would drive around in their golf carts and watch you and your kids to make sure everyone was following the rules or not doing something they didn’t like. The pool was ice cold so the kids couldn’t stay in there longer than 15mins. If the kids put their feet in the hot tub, they’d be yelled at. Definitely do not recommend this place for families.

While there too, we experienced a tornado watch and the sirens were going off. When asking where there shelter is, they straight up said “we don’t have one. The safest place for you is in your cabin.” How can they not have a tornado shelter?!? Isn’t that required???

Overall, save your money and go somewhere else. This site doesn’t deserve business if they can’t improve at their customer service and safety.

We have responded to your review on another site. We dont allow kids to do things that damage our property or violate the lW, both of which your kids did. We also pointed out 2 different buildings for shelter. We hope you have better luck in a place that doesnt value your kids safety or its own property. It wont be here.

Rush No More was a nice campground in a beautiful setting. My family had a great time. My only complaint was they more then doubled their fees because we arrived a week before the Sturgis motorcycle rally. I feel this was just being greedy. They probably would have done better keeping their rates low as evidenced by the near empty campground. I probably will not camp there again because of this rate hike and price gouging. Also they had too many rules.

I'm normally completely self-sufficient with a big solar system but my inverter died on a Saturday morning and Rush No More was the only place I could find with an available spot with electric for a 'day of' booking. It has been a great place, very peaceful in spite of being almost full and the staff has been FANTASTIC and very accommodating to my need to extend my stay as I wait for the replacement inverter to be shipped. I really appreciate all they have done to help me out of this jam and highly recommend them!

Being native SD we have stayed at many CG in Hills We have stayed at Rush No More twice and plan on going again!
Live music on Wednesdays and Sundays. Music Jams all are welcome listen or play. And they usually get the regulars who are very good
All different size cabins and a couple options for family reunions which our family did there some years ago
Very nice hang out patio bar area and they fry up burgers on certain times.
We always try and book a spot up close to patio bar area and just throughly enjoy our times and hospitality there

We stayed for 5 nights. On the 3rd night a rainstorm came through and our SurgeGuard surge protector detected an issue and interrupted power flow to our RV. We had to plug directly into the shoreline at the park. The next day we plugged our surge protector back in, and again, the power to our rig was interrupted. We plugged in directly to shoreline again. Which meant we were taking a huge risk of frying our electrical system in our rig. That next night we returned to our rig after being gone all day, and saw that we had new neighbors. The following morning we discovered it was another guest from across the row, who the park managers moved because their surge protector was doing the same thing as ours. That guest explained that they had complained to the park managers, and the park said it was their faulty equipment. So we figured it might be that our surge protector was bad as well??? Since leaving Rush No More, we've used it elsewhere and it works just fine. There is not a problem with our surge protector. The park evidentially has issues with the power at at least one section of their electric supply. Also, the space we were assigned was extremely unlevel. Many of the sites are unlevel. About half a dozen or more rigs had block after block under them in an attempt to level their rigs. If this is the only park available, I can see staying here, but I don't recommend using their power at the northwest end of the park (we were in 3A).

Nice greeting but our disappointed we were sandwiched in between 3 other RVs as we could not even put our canopy out. If one sits outside no privacy. On the weekend Rock Crawler Club was there and as I stated we all were squeezed in. The club had nice people but we came for a quiet weekend.
My main issue (during Covid) was the bathroom was dirty but the showers were horrible. Filthy shower curtains brown on the bottom I presume was soap scum.
It is located in a nice area off of I 90 but personally we will never go again.

Thanks for the review. We were quite crowded as it was Labor Day weekend and we did have the Rock Crawler Club here. If you park as we ask you to there is always space enough for your awning. Unfortunately, some people move back after we park them because they only have a short sewer hose or some other reason, thereby limiting their space. We did our best to keep up with the bathrooms during this holiday weekend, but obviously didn't meet your expectations. We could have chosen to lock our bathrooms and have people use the bathrooms in their RV's but chose to keep them open for the convenience of our guests. I wish you had taken the time to let us know about the situation in the bathroom when you encountered it. We could have taken immediate action and improved both your and other guests experience. It was addressed as soon as it was noticed when we checked the bathrooms (several times a day). We are also switching from a vinyl shower curtain to a polyester one which can be washed with bleach. That may address any soap scum problems. We hope so. Please give us a try and ask if its a busy weekend. We do have spots in the back area of the campground that are not as tight but these book out early. Again, thanks for the review.

cabins were dirty, there was bugs under the beds and floor wasn’t sweeper. the bathrooms were disgusting, on top of that the owner was overly disrespectful. we barely had any privacy due to how close the cabins were. when we got there the fire alarm was beeping because they never checked the batteries. other then the owner problem, the staff were amazing.

We are sorry you didn't find our accommodations up to par. We try every day to ensure that our guests find our facilities clean and ready. Obviously, we didn't meet your expectations. I will say that we sweep for bugs every day before guests arrive, but we are right next to the forest so that is a challenge. As the owner who you are accusing of being disrespectful, I will need to disagree. I did everything in my power to make you happy. When one of your party complained of dogs barking, I offered him a different site away from their camper, even though he was the only one around who seemed to hear them. He didn't want to move. You never mentioned anything to us about your cabin condition, even though we were there to change the battery in the smoke detector. As for the smoke detector, I can assure you that the batteries are changed every spring. We take safety seriously. As you know, we changed it again right away. Perhaps it was a weak battery. But you don't know until it tells you by beeping. Again, I apologize that we were unable to meet your expectations. I hope you will be able to find another place that will do so. Safe travels.

I did not stay at a spa site, saw them, looked like a smaller 4-6 person spa. They don't search you're RV for outside alcohol. I thought our site was well maintained. It's 3-4 miles up the freeway to Sturgis, then about 1.5 miles off of the freeway to the campground. Time it'll take you....very traffic dependent. 2016 is the 76th....vs. the 75th so not sure what the crowd will be like. No hidden fees that I'm aware of. The upper sites get some shade, some folks had portoshades, just be cognizant of the rapid weather changes, wind tore quite a few awnings that were up and not anchored or attended. Got some marble sized hail in Sturgis on Monday night of the rally, it didn't even rain at the campground.
