We stayed here on the first night of our family road trip. The staff was all very nice (especially the bartenders), and the rate was fantastic via Priceline, but parts of our room seemed a little dirty and there was a large group of people drinking in the atrium until around 12a that could be heard through the entire hotel. I thought that the staff probably should’ve stepped in at some point and told them to disburse. (Maybe the did, but it probably should’ve been before midnight.) Oh! And one other thing- a glass of Louis Martini Cab was $19 at the bar! That’s nuts! I haven’t even seen a glass of Louis Martini cost $19 in Chicago or L.A. and this was a Sheraton in Sioux Falls, SD!

We were driving across the country moving from Denver to New Jersey. We made a same day reservation and when we reached the hotel around midnight, we were told that unfortunately the hotel had overbooked and there were no rooms available. Not only were we not called at any point during the day telling us of the issue, but when we got there and were turned down, we were told that there was no hotel in the city with vacancy and the closest hotels were about 4 hours away. After driving all day, we were told the next closest hotel was 4 hours away, u acceptable. So we had no other choice but to start driving east and towards Minneapolis. I guess you can luckily in our haste to get to Minneapolis we were pulled over for speeding by a Minnesota trooper. After explaining our circumstances and receiving the summons, the officer informed of us another town where there is most certainly vacancy. We did wind up getting to a hotel about 90 minutes away, at a not so desirable property to say the least, but at that point in time, we really had no choice. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. We called the hotel manager and never even heard back from the property. Absolutely unacceptable.

Sioux Falls, SD We got the very last room at the hotel. It was a Saturday night, there were sports tournaments going on, so it was very busy. First,I must mention the fabulous beds and pillows you have at your hotel. Perfect! What wasn't at all fabulous: We had a King room with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was not made; we found the bedding, such as it was, in the closet. There was very worn mattress protector but only one of the elastic bands to hold it on the bed was still on it. There was an old, very thin bottom sheet, no top sheet at all, a pillow and what looked to be a very old, worn blanket. The seat hinges in the toilet in the bathroom had very evident urine (brown gunk) collected around them. With Hotel taxes and fees, this room just short of 300.00. I wouldn't expect either of these things at any hotel, but for the price of this room, it was completely unacceptable. Room 201. What will you do to make this right with me? Thank you, C Johnson

Having left Deadwood in the morning and doing a lot of sightseeing at Lead, Sturgis, and Ellsworth AFB, we were ready to pull of the interstate at nightfall. Got a decent online rate at the Sheraton which wasn't too far off the highway. The guy at the desk gave us a room and upon entering the room noticed luggage and jeans laying on the bed. Went back downstairs and the guy was like "oh". Got another room and this one was unoccupied. Room was okay. Went down to the indoor pool which was dated. Would probably chosen a different hotel for the rate we paid. Checked out the Falls which were cool. Also had a pair of fighter jets practicing touch and goes at the local airport whose approach was above the falls. The old courthouse downtown was also interesting.

To say that this is has been an unpleasant trip would be an understatement. The clerk at check in last night was curt and even though we attempted to resolve our snafu with booking (somehow managed to change two a one night stay) he refused to help and had us come back in the morning. We were given a downgraded room from what we originally booked-or we thought anyway, the pictures are super baiting and switch. The deferred maintenance of last year has turned into neglect with stained carpet, rust stains and full-on mold in the bathroom. On advice from the "friendly" chap, we woke up at 6 am to ensure we could stay the 2nd night. When we got back from the Rare disease conference at Sanford we found we were locked out of our room. We had to stand in line for 20 min to get our keys unlocked, only to walk back into our "glorious" bait and switch room with half-heartedly made up bed and our room service tray still in the room. -Not a single member of staff has even been pleasant in any sort of way. -The rooms are getting to the point of disgusting due to no one doing upkeep on them. -The hotel is SOOOOOO noisy and full of children from baseball tournaments and they are literally running up and down every hall unattended. -There are no refrigerators in the rooms. - No room service breakfast (perhaps there is, there is no menu this place is such a cluster I imagine we will get yelled out if dared to try to order something).
