Fairly new hotel here in SF. We went for an anniversary get away. Staff is awesome. Booked a Junior Suite. Not sure what the suite refers to; it was a large-ish room. Fairly spartan to be honest. A couple of mirrors on the wall, but nothing else. There was a metal circular dining style table with 4 chairs but no other type of chair such as a comfortable chair to sit and read or watch TV. The lighting was just not good. A large hanging light over the aforementioned table that was not bright enough for reading. 6 flood lights in the ceiling for the rest of the room. At first we could adjust them with a dimmer on the wall switch but then that was no longer functioning; off or on was all there was. Since it was on the wall we had to turn it off and feel our way to the bed(s). There was no lamp on the night stand between the beds and no control there or through the Alexa device they feature. Blackout shades were great and also kept the cold air that was leaking around the windows; noticeable air movement with the blinds up. Dead bold in the door is just not aligned properly and no matter of lifting, pushing, pulling would get it into its slot.
Another odd thing was the only place to hang clothes was three coat hooks on the wall. No closet or wardrobe for clothing.
Bathroom and shower were great. Lobby was done really nice and the attached (but not affiliated) bar/lounge had some good eats and great service. Tons of nearby restaurants.

A business associate said she’d heard about the Hotel on Phillips as a great new lodging choice in SF. It was easily that and more. At one of my business meetings, a local thought that having stayed a great deal on business in major cities, it’d be tough for any hotel in SF to stack up. They were completely wrong. The rooms were upscale, comfortable and immaculate, with advanced communication technology (Alexa rules the world) for local info, hotel communication and just about any creature comfort one would need. The in-hotel restaurant or nearby eateries are solid and plentiful, with almost any possible cuisine one could want. This is a beautiful hotel, well-situated, great value and an easy choice. We’ll be back!

This hotel exceeded my expectations . Never have I stayed at a hotel with so many thoughtful touches . It all started at check in, which was easy with no waiting and two people at the check in desk. I didn’t get the name of the guy at the front desk but he was there late and early and made us feel like regulars despite it being our first visit . It was their 2nd anniversary weekend and all guests received a surprise welcome package that was over and above with a bottle of Cava champagne to wash it down and two delicious cupcakes that felt very boutique. There was even a very fun scavenger hunt which encouraged us to get to know the hotel with a lovely prize. In the morning they said there would be an additional surprise outside out our door and yes there was! The coffee in the room came in a lovely parchment package with a date of when it was roasted and an unbleached filter for the spray armed coffee machine with a thermos. These guys know their coffee and tea which was organic . The bathroom products where generous and lovely too. The bed comfortable and the TV huge with a ability to watch Netflix and many other choices . The room was quiet with great views. The fitness center was spotless with a really top knotch selection of equipment . Oh and the carpet/rug in the room was so soft underfoot . I loved the design of the bathroom too. Some people in earlier reviews have said there are no closets, but there are . The closet is hidden behind the sliding mirror barn door of the bathroom . So many great things to say about this hotel and we will be back if we drive that route again and leave a little longer in the morning to enjoy all the hotel has to offer .

This hotel is beautiful and of 5 start quality. The rooms are spotless, offer views of the city and showcase unique interior designs. The bathrooms are also luxury with waterfall showers. There is an amazing restaurant on site and the hotel is walking distance from the down town breweries and The falls. Highly recommend

This hotel is very unique with a great location in the middle of Sioux Falls. We were able to walk to all different areas of downtown and the river area without much effort. Parking was right in front of the hotel and very easy. Room was very clean and comfortable. Coffee shop in lobby was very friendly with good coffee. The only drawback with our room was the street noise but at the same time it also allowed us to hear music early in the evening.

Amazing stay at an amazing hotel. They have turned a historic local bank building into a boutique hotel. Located in downtown Sioux Falls, close to Falls Park and several restaurants and shops. Lobby space was grand but service was impeccable and friendly. Decor in rooms outstanding. We picked a room with a view of the river. Each room had an Alexa you could use to contact someone to bring you extra things. Wait time less than 10 minutes. Wine fridge and coffee pot in the room. Also provided robes were a nice touch but a bit scratchy from being bleached. My only complaint was I wished I had packed slippers as the tile floors in the room were quite cold. Granted temps were below zero when we stayed. We had drinks and dinner in The Treasury in the hotel. The entrance was through the original bank vault door! Small menu but very well done, gourmet. NOT the usual bar food. Full service bar with a fun cocktail list. Cocktail bar vibe, knowledgeable staff that wore masks because of COVID. Hand sanitizer spray was located at every table. In the morning we ordered coffee and mocha from Coffea, a local coffee roasterie, located behind the original teller windows. Enjoyed our Java in one of the comfortable sitting areas in the lobby. Would definitely stay again.

I checked into the Hotel on Phillips yesterday and am staying here for four nights. When I got to the front desk to checkin I was immediately told I could not have any housekeeping service my entire four night stay. Nothing. What??? I thought I booked a room at a upscale chic boutique hotel! Not a Super 8!! This should definitely be very visibly noted on their website. I would not have booked the most expensive hotel in Sioux Falls knowing I would be offered no service. It’s not like they did not know this was an issue as I booked the hotel directly on their website the same day, yesterday, before checking in. If I would have booked my room as four separate reservations and checked out each day I would have gotten a cleaned room. The hotel is very nice with really comfortable beds, but this does not make up for the lack of or should I say NO service. We come to Sioux Falls every year for 4-5 nights for a tournament & have always stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn because it was the best downtown hotel. I thought maybe this would be our new go to hotel. No, Hilton Garden Inn is nice with a very good restaurant down stairs and will service your room every night, all you have to do is ask. If you’re looking for good service I’d recommend checking them out.

Thank you for your comments concerning your stay at Hotel on Phillips. I appreciate your taking the time to review your stay and hope you will accept my apologies for any inconvenience you experienced. I am disappointed we failed to give you the fine service and consideration we strive for with all our guests – the type of service we pride ourselves in. The front desk staff worded that incorrectly. We are not offering daily service, but if there is anything you need, you can always contact the front desk and we would be happy to help you. My staff will also be made aware of your comments and we will all take immediate corrective action. We appreciate your patronage and hope you will stay with us at Hotel on Phillips the next time you are in Sioux Falls. I can assure you we will do everything we can to make your stay a comfortable and happy one as we illustrate that what happened to you was an unfortunate exception to our normally high quality of service.

Booked two nights in one of the Swanky Red QQ rooms for a girls weekend. We all live in town so we knew some about the property and we were definitely not disappointed. You NEED to see this place! Lobby is stunning Art Deco with the bar inside the old bank vault and a mezzanine that gives you a full look at the historic room. The hotel room was gorgeous and spacious. The decor was perfect, the linens and towels were luxurious (loved the robes!) The staff was very friendly and helpful with things like parking and when we asked for a few extra towels, they were at our door in about 5 minutes. For visitors, this hotel is minutes walk or drive from downtown bars, restaurants and attractions. Thank you for keeping so much of the buildings history in the hotel and allowing people to see and enjoy it!

This is a special in Sioux Falls. We have traveled to many large city hotels and this ranks equally to any of them. I love the grand lobby, the unique Treasury bar / restaurant and the rooms have great views of the city. Staying at Hotel on Phillips is experience you only get in cities 10 times the size of Sioux Falls. If you are looking for a special weekend for you and your spouse I would highly recommend this place. The only thing the hotel is missing was someone playing a piano in lobby 🎹

We came to see family in town and stayed here 4 nights at their recommendation. It’s a converted bank building downtown, and many of the rooms overlook the river. If you can get a river view, you’ll be glad you did. Hotel is very central and easy to get anywhere you want to go. Staff was delightful - especially Phil, who really took care of us!

There are no closets in the rooms - we kept thinking our room must be odd, but people on the elevators kept asking us if we had a closet, because they didn’t! Hysterical. Rooms are thoughtfully designed and the bathroom was good. Beds and linens were super comfy.

Parking lot is small, but we always found a spot and the valet was so sweet. The bar/restaurant is a fun design and we enjoyed a late night bite there one evening. Overall, such a great experience.
