We stayed here for two nights on a 3 week road trip from Denver to Yellowstone and the Black Hills. We like to break up the run of motels with a few nights bed and breakfast and Shari and Lee proved to be the perfect hosts at Emerald Hills. The property is ideally suited to touring the area and has two rooms on the lower floor with an additional shared area separate from the hosts living accommodation. Lots of snacks and refreshments are available which is much appreciated, if a little tempting to those with little will-power like myself! The room was excellently appointed with a really comfortable bed, and we used the secure wifi to sort out our final flight seat reservations home. Breakfast was really superb and filling, with a gorgeous hot course and as much toast and jam as you want. They happily accommodated Claire's dairy free requirements. Emerald Hills was a real find and we are so glad that we stayed with you Shari. Thank you so much for your hospitality, staying with you was one of the highlights of our holiday!

Find great comfort, hospitality, privacy and easy access to all the sights in and around Rapid City by making Emerald Hills B&B your home base. We toured by day -- easy drives to Deadwood, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, Mt Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Badlands -- then made the short trip downtown by night to dine at Rapid City's fine restaurants, and topped it all off by watching a beautiful sunset on the back porch of the B&B. Innkeepers Shari and Lee provide a neat, clean, quiet, roomy and fully supplied living and bedroom area, with Shari whipping up a unique and filling homemade breakfast you will not forget.

What can we say, great review from great people! With all the rain, glad you got to see the stunning sunsets we are so lucky to see from our deck. Conversations during breakfast were great and glad you returned home with wonderful memories of Emerald Hills but especially the Black Hills area and all the "treasures" it has to offer. We had a wonderful visit to Emerald Hills Bed and Breakfast just outside of Rapid City. It is so conveniently located just a mile and a half away from US Highway 16, but it is far enough away that there was no highway noise. Our hosts Shari and Lee were very welcoming. Lee offered to transport our luggage down the stairs to our room. The breakfasts that Shari provided were filling and delicious. My favorite was the day we had apple pancakes. Each day of our stay featured a different breakfast. She contacted in advance to learn about food preferences and allergies. Shari was also a source of numerous tips and suggestions to make our touring of the Black Hills more enjoyable. Our room was spacious with two comfortable chairs and a mini refrigerator. A microwave and table for two was available in a semi-private area adjacent to the common space.

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Emerald Hills. Shari and Lee are excellent hosts, so friendly that we felt at home right away. The guest accommodation is second to none with beautiful furnishings in our suite, and a common area to lounge in that was Comfortable and well equipped. We will definitely stay again if we are fortunate enough to return to the USA

My husband and I, along with my brother and his wife, stayed at this beautiful, 2-bedroomTt B & B for a week while vacationing in South Dakota. I cannot speak highly enough about the innkeepers/owners of Emerald Hills. Shari & Lee truly made us feel like family. The B&B is the entire lower level of their home and is quite comfortably furnished. Each bedroom has its own private bath and both adjoin a central common area. We chose this location because it had easy access for day trips to Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, The Badlands, Devils Tower and other attractions in this area. Shari prepared us delicious, hearty breakfasts each morning. Both Shari & Lee were charming & hospitable and we enjoyed the camaraderie of sharing stories on a couple of evenings. I highly recommend this B&B without hesitation.

Your review is so very much appreciated! Since we only have 2 suites, it always seems so much more fun and personal when you have family members or friends traveling together. We love breakfast time, not only preparing it but especially that time we got to know you and your family. You definitely kept busy while here and we enjoyed the evenings you weren't too tired to come up for more chatting. Thank you again Carol, Lex, Clay and Jane (hug the kitties for us).
