This is a nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and the place is clean. The best part for me was they allow pets and for a very reasonable fee. It’s located it a great spot, too. Lots to do.

A block of rooms was reserved for our family reunion, I booked a handicapped room 2 beds, groun floor. If not handicapped then for sure ground floor. I booked as soon as the rooms were available. When I arrived at Pierre I called and said I would be late checking in. I arrived to the motel and the only room they had was on second floor. I cannot do stairs, so I was very upset. After calling the manager, they finally said there would be a room with a king bed. 2 other people were staying with me so that room was not what I needed. The other 2 people had to stay elsewhere. The front desk person was not friendly at all & when the manager came he was very unprofessional. I was told by him if I wanted to go elsewhere it was fine by him. It was the weekend and all my family were staying at the Governor's Inn so I stayed in a room that did not meet my needs. I also asked for compensation for the compromise and was told to go stay elsewhere. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will tell others of my poor experience.…

We stayed here for one night. It was a basic hotel room - nothing fancy - very plain, simple furniture. The bedding was just okay, and the bed was not very comfortable. The towels were good. All rooms are PETS ALLOWED, so be aware of this if you have allergies or prefer a room that does not have an odor--carpets tend to hold a smell and the hotel can't shampoo them after every guest leaves. We will stay elsewhere if we are in Pierre again.

yes we are a very basic hotel, clean and we work hard to take care of it beds are fairly new but never as good as home. if people ask about pets we let them know

We stayed at the Governor's Inn about two weeks ago while traveling across South Dakota. The room was average for a budget hotel - clean-ish, beds not very comfortable but I've slept on worse. There is no elevator, so be aware of that. Breakfast existed, but wasn't very good. The front desk staff seemed very disinterested and was pretty rude/short at check-in - definitely not welcoming. Tried to save a bit of money in staying here on our trip, but if we return to Pierre in the future, we'll find somewhere else to stay.

We were so happy with the friendly staff when we stayed! It was a very enjoyable trip! The employees were so accommodating and polite, we will most certainly stay there in the future. Customer Service gets an "A+"!

Nice, comfortable place with great staff. Location is safe and convenient. Comfortable beds and good parking. Pool and hot tub are a great addition. Breakfast available. Fast food places close by and other restaurants are near.

I took a day trip and reserved the hotel. First time there and it was great. From checking in to leaving everything was excellent. Located in a great spot. Many places to eat nearby. Room was quiet and very clean.

We stayed for 3 days. The room and bathroom were clean. The motel was quiet and had a pool that people were using. The breakfast was good, but I do prefer regular waffle batter to the malted batter that they serve. This is a not a big deal since they had a wide variety of very good breakfast food. Checkout was easy and the motel personnel were polite.

Trying out the new Tesla chargers and 14-50 plugs for electric cars which were installed today. They both are 50 amp 11.5 kw. Free for guests. Slight charge for others to charge. 3 of each for a total of 6 chargers. New concrete at the entrance and the drive to the front entrance.

We stopped at Governor’s Inn in Pierre while traveling through. We got much more than expected. Our room was large and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The Governor’s Inn was a wonderful surprise after a long day’s travel.
