Thunderbird Lodge is a locally owned and independently operated motel. We are dedicated to hospitality and service at an incredible value. We feature an expanded continental breakfast, on-site Liquor Store, hot tub and sauna, and clean, comfortable rooms. We are a pet friendly motel, but we have specific rooms dedicated to our furry friends. This was a perfect overnight stop on our motorcycle trip to Sturgis. Just off the interstate next by two gas stations. It is an older hotel but our room was clean, sheets were soft, and the hot tub was perfect for a soak to soothe tired muscles. Breakfast was typical complimentary fare; waffles, sausage gravy & biscuits, cereal, fruit, bagels, etc. Well worth $89.00 a night.

Very reasonably priced. Very pleasant staff. The Continental breakfast was very nicely done just wish it was a bit cooler in the room. The room with two queen beds was clean and pleasant.
The only two issues that I had was 1 the lighting on the interior hall was very dim and 2 the carpets in said hall needed to be stretched and trimmed. The way they are now coupled with the poor lighting is a tripping hazard that could really hurt someone.

Thunderbird Lodge provides excellent value and a clean facility. The owner Andy was very responsive to our needs. He has been making upgrades to the motel and plans to continue updating some of the more dated aspects. The employees seemed dedicated to keeping the lodge clean. The smoking, pet, and non-smoking rooms are kept separate from each other, so we appreciated that since we prefer no pets and no smoking. The hot tub area was nice as was the breakfast area, which had waffles, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, etc. Andy was flexible in adding dates to our original reservation. Overall, a good, affordable experience.

Great accomodations. We were surprised, but happy to get a room during Sturgis week. Clean rooms and beds, along with a nice breakfast. The staff was friendly. We always enjoy our visit and will continue to use the Thunderbird Lodge as a stopping location when we go thru the area.

The people here are very friendly people and helpful. They had great prices for a great clean place. My wife forgot her wallet and after we left and was out of town they called as soon as housecleaning seen it and held it for us tell we got back. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Stay here!! The room was immaculate. The beds were amazingly comfortable, street noise was minimal and every staff member was friendly, helpful and accommodating. To top it off a delicious breakfast was included. I can not recommend this motel highly enough. I have stayed in much higher priced rooms that were not nearly this nice.

Used this location as an overnight stop on way to Yellowstone. Clean rooms, comfy beds, low ambient noise, two good restaurants (one open 24hrs) within a 30 second walk. Easy access from highway and next to gas station is a plus. Breakfast could be argued as basic, but is more than sufficient if just staying overnight.

We were driving on a cross country road trip and stopped in Mitchell for the night. We saw the Thunderbird on our way in and walked in to see if they had rooms. We were nervous as it was after 11pm but it was open and had availability. The owner was working the front desk he was extremely friendly and accommodating. He got us a room quickly and easily and showed us on a little map how to get to our room.
The price was cheap which is exactly what we were looking for. The room was great, clean, and exactly what we needed. The water gets hot in both the sink and the shower and the beds were comfortable enough to give us a great nights sleep. Would definitely stay here again!!

This is a Motel off 90. The rooms are soundproof, never heard any road noise or other guests. The rooms very clean and comfortable beds.
The staff is extremely friendly. We will be switching from the Hampton to stay at this Hotel next time we visit our son!!!

Check in was smooth and staff was nice. Our group had two room, but were very nice.
Both of the rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The water was hot and had good pressure. Our rooms were close to breakfast area and hot tub, so it was a little loud in the morning. Other than that it was quiet.

We do not provide shuttle service at our property. There are two local driving services that can get you wherever you need to go for a reasonable price, however. Hope that helps!
