This is a very basic motel...with your choice of a a room, or cabin, The cabins are set next to a very pretty creek, which can be heard with your room windows open, The rooms could not have been any cleaner, the bathroom was spotless. Stayed there for three nights. The owners live on site, and could not be any... More

The location is beautiful. We had a tiny cabin with kitchenette. The kitchen sink doubled as the bathroom sink. There were "warnings" written everywhere. If you did this, this would happen." I have to admit, this was kind of off putting. The bed was okay but with no head board and no other place to sit, it was fairly uncomfortable.... More

Accommodation was very good and quiet. The owner checked us in and was very friendly. The brook outside was really relaxing. I was not impressed with all the signs telling you what you could do or not do. I get it for the week of Sturgis, but really! I was also not impressed with the envelopes for the owner's tip.... We stayed for 2 months when we first moved to Lead. We had a large room with good sized bath/shower and very large full kitchen. Back door to the creek, right on the highway and on the Mickelson. Owners are wonderful people and very accommodating. If you don't have to stay right in town, this place is about a mile... More

Booked this hotel mainly because it accommodated five nicely! It was very cozy and had a rustic/cabin feel. The true beauty of this hotel can't be seen until you go out of your back door! It had a hot tub (which I wasn't even aware of when booking), as well as a grill, picnic tables and swings overlooking a stream... More

We are frequent visitors for Whitetail. Dave and Colleen and very welcoming and nice people. We recently bought our first camper so this was our first time camping in the hills area and we loved it. The location is beautiful with the creek out your back door and it's small enough that you almost feel like you have the place... More

Extremely overpriced. Not the most cost effective accommodation for any trip. The hotel needs major repairs. The kitchen is at best functional. The carpeted room floor has some squashy noise from possible broken tiles or concrete surface. You will feel like you need another shower after using the old bathroom towel. The toilet backed up after use, but they are... More

My husband and I starting staying here Memorial Day weekend this past summer. We usually visit the Deadwood area at least once a month if not more to ride ATV's in the summertime. We are so glad we found this place. In fact we just stayed there again last weekend. The owners are good people who take great care of... More

We have been camping there for the past 5 years or so. We like it very much or we would not be going back. Bathrooms seem to be clean, water pressure is not the best but it works for us. Lots of extra parking since we take Toy Hauler and bikes. The creek behind the campers keep us cool, and... More

Stayed at the end of rally week. This is an older, small motel with some tent sites and a couple cabins. We stayed in the motel part. The room was a little dated but the mattress slept very comfortably. The only issue we had was the toilet tank took a long time to fill so you had to wait probably... More
