The town hall inn is not your average hotel. the place has lots of history and was a fun place to stay. I believe there are only 6 or 7 rooms, each given a name in addition to a number. the Inn is run buy two brothers, we saw only one, who are friendly and polite. the rooms were simply... More

Clean, comfy room. Quiet, good parking. Pastry, coffee, fruit style breakfast. Friendly staff. Room had window air, tv, fridge, coffee service, microwave. An old Town Hall, hence the name. Bathroom was complete, clean, etc.

We were looking for a place to stay during the Sturgis Bike Week and we certainly lucked out with this place. Super clean, fresh carpeting in the room and on the 31 step-staircase to our room (we stayed in the Library Room- which actually had an old safe built into the wall). Staff was friendly and accommodating and the town... More

We are so happy that you lucked out and found our place! We also love the original, antiquated vaults that are built into the walls of two of our rooms; (Library, Auditors.) The Town Hall Inn certainly boast some history, after all, she is 104 years old! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other's -... More

We stayed in this old hotel on our trip to Lead and Deadwood. A little over two miles to the crowd in Deadwood , this is a quiet retreat after all the tourist trap experiences of Deadwood. Stay here if you want a clean quiet room, friendly staff and easy walking distance to the attractions in Lead. The Stampmill Inn... More

We love it when people discover Lead - close enough to Deadwood to bicycle, cab it or drive the short three minute ride, (3 miles.) People... including our family, love to play in the crowd, then come "home" to peace and quiet! We truly love the fact that you chose to stay with our family and that you took the... More

One night in a classic old west style hotel with lots of old west pictures and antiques. walking access to downtown and the Homestake Mine Museum. Quiet clean and friendly with a Comfortable bed and bath. easy access to great restaurants serving fresh SD beef. Not the huge tourist town of DW but an easy drive to all Black Hills.

Loved the quiet town of Lead after driving through the chaos of Deadwood (where we originally intended to stay). We had the judges chamber, a super large 2nd floor room that overlooked the main downtown. We loved it. The downtown is only three blocks long, so it was super quiet, except for the obnoxious Harley folks who roared through every... More

Thank you truly for taking the time to review our hotel. We love when people choose The Town Hall Inn over Deadwood. Our town IS a small, sleepy mining gem. The Municipal Judges Chambers is a lovely room and we are so happy that you got to check it out. Please come back again very soon! More

I really loved staying at the Town Hall Inn in Lead, SD. My friend and I were going to a yoga conference and rather than stay at the casino/hotel complex where the conference was we chose this lovely gem. Our room was really clean. A good size for two people. The bed was firm and comfortable. The shower was great.... More

We stayed in the Plat & Tract room for three nights in June. The bed was comfortable & room was very clean & well equipped for a relaxing stay. Please note; however, that if you have difficulty climbing steep stairs, be sure to request a downstairs room. I'm 62, and the 20-25 steps to the 2nd floor were a challenge.... More

We are so very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. You are right, the first floor is a great choice for folks wanting to avoid the stairs! We feel truly honored that you noticed how clean we are - we try very hard to keep this 104 year old gem of ours in tip top shape! More

This is by far the quietest place we have ever stayed! We love the quiet and peacefulness of the Town Hall Inn. The owners are always pleasant and helpful Our latest room was clean and comfortable with real towels! Not those paper thin imitation towels you sometimes find. We love this place and will be back!
