Rented a spot for 2 days. I explicitly asked for a spot suitable for tents. The spot I was given was equivalent to an uneven rocky driveway built on a hill. Luckily the folks next to me let me set up my tent on the grass in their space. What was worse, however, was that when I approached the front... More

We have traveled all around the country and this ranks as one of the better places but reasonably priced, very large and roomy sites. We were in the Ranch Camp up on the hill in the back with no bugs and quiet. This is very clean and not as packed as a campground down the street. Best part, their rates... More

Big sites, really big Uncrowded park, and ENORMOUS mountain views. Pool and hot tub are busy in Afternoons.. Great walking trails. Michelson bike trail is just outside park. Just adding words and words and words to meet the required limit.

Great spot for a reunion or family gathering. Beautiful campground with cabins, pool, hot tub, playground, basketball court, volleyball court, and campfire rings. Have to bring EVERYTHING but worth it. Centrally located in the Black Hills with easy access to many attractions.

Great place to stay while we explored the Black Hills scenic sites, large, well kept, friendly staff clean facilities, centrally located. Close to both Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments. Nearby Hill City offers plenty of restaurants and stores to replenish your supplies. We'll come again.

We've stayed here multiple times as well as at many campgrounds literally from coast to coast. Put Rafter J in any of those locations and it's still going to be a premier camping resort. Of course, you can't put the climate or geography somewhere else and that is certainly part of the appeal of the campground. Open meadows to wooded... More

This was our first family outing to the Black Hills area. I had called one campground and when I was told they didn't have any openings for our travel dates, I asked what park would they recommend for an RV. And they recommended Rafter J's. I am happy to say they gave an excellent recommendation. As we travelled the area... More

This park is the best and biggest we saw in the area. We will definetly stay here again!! The views are stunning no matter where you are. The pool was great for the kids after a long day of sight seeing. They offer a laundromat which we used 2x. Price was average for laundromat. It got the job done though!... More

We loved this place so much that we came back for another week. Great pool, gift shop, playground, and spacious sites. Our kids loved the "mountain" in the middle of the campground. Adjacent to the bike trail and smack in the middle of the hills, you won't find a better campground. The KOA pales in comparison.

We booked a Comfort Cabin for 2 nights before the 4th of July weekend. This place was recommended to us by friends and family. We pulled in on a nice paved road to a huge, Spacious campground and cabin setting. The cabins are very nice and clean! Nice front porch with a roof for shade (and to keep dry -... More
