We reserved this hotel sight unseen. It was very basic, no cable. But it was clean and had all the amenities needed. It is a little old. Therefore there weren't alot of plugs. There was extensions cords with the lamp and tv plugged into it. The owners were really nice. If you are looking for a quick, no thrills place to stay, this would be the place.
We travel with our family and friends quite often and when in the Black Hills this is the place to stay! We have stayed multiple times and utilized the motel rooms and a chalet, dependent on the number of people traveling with us. Always clean and comfortable, budget friendly, the hosts are very gratious ( they even went above and beyond in helping resolve a truck and trailer issue) and motorcycle friendly. The location suits us well being centerally located to the sites and its an easy in and out.
We made a last minute reservation and were very pleased to find this motel. We had a clean and comfortable room with everything we needed. They also had grills available for use. We were planning to camp so we used our own cooking tools but it was nice to have a place to set up and prepare our meal. The staff/owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
This motel is definitely budget friendly and easy to find. Owners are wonderful. Walls are thin and bedding is faded, however, microwave and fridge is a big plus. Our room was clean and the surrounding area is beautiful. You can use gas grills for BBQ and fire pit to make smores. There is a large playground in the back of the motel, you can play basketball, volleyball or other games. Balls are provided free of charge.
Pros: The location of the property was great. We were able to get to a number of local attractions in a reasonable time. Understand that every drive in the mountains takes longer. What takes us 15 minutes back home would take 30-40 in the Black Hills. The property had a playground and grass field behind for the kids to play. The owners were incredibly kind and a pleasure to work with. We primarily chose this motel for the combination of price and location - which we're still glad we did. Cons:The motel is definitely dated with old bedding and carpet. It feels a little dingy and you could hear thudding between the walls (as well as a few dogs) at times but that didn't bother us a whole lot.
