We met family in Hill City but didn't want to stay at one of the bigger motels where the family was staying - we wanted something unique and fresh and not "big box". Well, we found it and more when we stayed in our cozy Chessie Lees Peas room at Mountains to Prairies. The room itself was comfy, pleasant, clean,... More

Found Mountains to Prairies B&B when another I tried was not available. This was a real stroke of luck as we found this accommodation a most pleasant experience. Linda and Sam have paid great attention to detail in making this place really comfortable and clean. A nice feature is that breakfast is optional. Great location within easy walk to shops... More

We stayed here two nights and found it to be extremely clean and comfortable. We only had one breakfast here but wish on reflection we had had them both as the breakfast was fantastic. The owner was really helpful and advised us on how best to spend our time in the area. Without his help we wouldn't have seen half... More

We saw the B&B from the road and decided to stop by since they advertised coffee. In addition to being a B&B and serving coffee drinks, they also have antiques for sale. Their ingredients are all of the highest quality, and they even offer lactose-free milk as an option. They make all of their own syrups and jam. The service... More

When your in Hill City , SD THE MOUNTAINS TO PRAIRIES B&B is perfect ! Sam and Linda are great host ... They went way beyond making us comfortable to finding our way around the area and restaurants. This was a quaint and tiny B&B right in town. Adorned with wall to wall antiques, it provided a comfy atmosphere for our short stay in the Black Hills. Sam and Linda were gracious and attentive hosts and Sam has lots of stories to tell. The breakfasts were yummy but not overwhelmingly large. Would stay there again.

From the moment of arrival to departure, Sam and Linda create an atmosphere that is friendly, welcoming, comfortable, and clean! They have thought of everything to make your stay with them the most enjoyable possible...from the delicious hot breakfast (fresh fruit with whipped cream on top!) of fluffy pancakes, sausage, eggs, and coffee to the "breakfast-to-go" that arrives the night... Our stay at Mountains to Prairies was fantastic. Sam and Linda couldn't have been more welcoming to a couple of dishevelled and road weary Brits en route from Seattle. We stayed in the 'Flower Girl' suite and it was perfect, very clean and spacious - so much thought has obviously gone into each detail in the room from the light... More

Stayed here for three nights. Wonderful accommodations even if the TV was a challenge - it was good to test our skills trying to change channels. The breakfasts were great, room kept nice and clean by their granddaughter, and wonderful hosts. Sam gave us a lot of info as to things "not to miss". Also supplied us with "donkey carrots"... More

My friends and I stayed at this charming B&B in June and thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations. Our room- Chessie Lee's Peas - had 3 separate beds, a bath downstairs, a separate small kitchen area, and a toilet and sink upstairs which was more than adequate. The beds were comfortable, the rooms very clean, and the breakfasts that Linda prepared were... More
