Stayed here for two nights and whilst this is not a boutique type B and B, it is very good value. The rooms are spacious and the breakfasts were amazing. The owner, Buff, makes you feel very welcome and the gardens are beautiful. Off the beaten track, which is a plus!

We have just returned from a 4-night stay at Orchards Retreat, and we were so pleased that it was there we chose to stay. Our welcome from Buff was very warm and friendly, and she was only too pleased to help us. Another review described the house as 'faded elegance', and I would agree with that. It is large with... Whether you think this place deserves a four or five depends on what you are looking for. The location is wonderful, a lovely 19th century property in fantastic grounds. Very quiet and peaceful, a true retreat. yet only a few minutes from a main A road and near to Norwich, the broads and the coast. The room we had was... More

One of the places I've stayed on my trips to Norwich that really stood out is Orchards Retreat. The lady running the business, Buff, is very friendly and happy to help. It's set in huge grounds with extensive gardens and you can wander where you like; I was told that usually there's a three week period where a zip line... More

We stayed at Orchards Retreat for two nights and we made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Buff is a brilliant hostess and made us feel very welcome. The room was great, and very clean and comfortable and well equipped too. The breakfast was amazing, and is a fantastic selection of local produce, made to order. We couldn't... More

I stop in every time I visit in-laws in Beccles or just passing by I pick this place. Last time I desperately needed some Norfolk country environment. I am from Redditch and the air qulity plus environment is terrible at best where I live. I was sick for months before with allergies, aches, pains and needed to get away for... More

What a lovely place, a charming old building in a lovely garden. Buff is an excellent hostess who is a brilliant example of quiet considerate customer service. Not very good mobile phone connection but she was happy for contact to ne made by the landline. This would be a perfect location for someone visiting the region who wants old-world charm... More

This is a little gem hidden in the Norfolk countryside. We booked it by chance and we were not disappointed. The owner Buff did everything to make us feel welcome and we certainly did. The room was spacious, spotless and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and a walk round the grounds is an absolute must. Fantastic place to step away... More

Our fourth visit and again we had a wonderful time. The accommodation for B&B within the main house is lovely, comfortable and spacious, and most importantly, within such a beautiful setting. We always enjoy breakfast in the lovely dining room with views of the gardens. Highly recommended and a wonderful location for the Broads, Norwich (20 mins), Beccles etc. On... More
