*I loved this hotel! It was so nice to have parking right adjacent, and all of the staff was amazing from the second we walked in. Adam was friendly, helpful, and really enjoyable. (as were the others, but we met him the most over the few days) *The hotel room was not any bigger or smaller than a chain hotel...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. I am glad that you found your room to be clean and comfortable. We maintained many of the Victorian features of our 1898 historic hotel during our renovation, including those big windows that you found charming. Thank you for noticing! Our stay was great and the staff was amazing! Adam checked us in, and was also our bartender and casino cashier. He was friendly and we had quite a few laughs with him. He really made our trip enjoyable. Complimentary drinks were available for gamblers as well as 2 coffee stations, which I loved. The motel was very clean and...

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. I will pass along your compliments to Adam and the rest of our staff, they work hard to accommodate our guests needs. Thank you for noticing! Like you, many guests appreciate our downtown location, free adjacent parking, and cleanliness. Our room pricing is among the lowest in downtown Deadwood,...

We had a great stay here because of the friendly staff. Would definitely come back. The room was very reasonably priced as well due to the slow week day. Upon arriving and checking in, we ultimately decided to spend our trip only at the hotel because we enjoyed our experience so much.

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. In addition to our historic hotel, there are many fine lodging options in our town. But, at the end of the day, it is our staff that sets us apart. With but 19 rooms, they have the time to spend with our guests on a personal level. More importantly,...

We dropped in for lunch during the Mustang rally. While the restaurant was in no ways crowded we found the server to be excellent and the food to be really great and served hot, all at a reasonable price. I had the roast beef and mashed potatoes and found it to be cooked well and have a great taste. Would...

Thank you for stopping by for lunch! Our on-site restaurant not only serves a great lunch, but their breakfast is a "locals favorite" and one of the best in town. Try the breakfast burrito, the green chili sauce is hand made from scratch. We hope to see you again, and that you consider staying at our historic hotel on your...

We went to Deadwood to experience the old west vibe and this historic hotel was a perfect fit. Its not too fancy, it honors its historic past and the little restaurant attached was a great breakfast spot! I really liked that it was so close to everything, we could walk everywhere we wanted to go.

Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. We attempt to honor our past by retaining many of the Victorian features of our 1898 structure. Like you, may guests find our central location to be convenient, just steps from most of Deadwood's attractions. The restaurant has long been a favorite of "locals." We hope to host you...

My husband and I had never been to South Dakota before so planning our trip to Deadwood was a brand new experience. I had looked on-line for a "historic" hotel and found the Iron Horse, a combination of old world charm, location and good price. We were not disappointed. We booked a larger room and enjoyed the corner windows with...

When we booked didn't realise how near the town centre we would be - it was brilliant. We had no problems parking in the hotel car park. The staff were very friendly and the owner Mike introduced himself and always spoke when passing. Also the housekeeper Linda introduced herself too when we met in the lift. The room was small...

Thank you for being our guest. I have owned the hotel for 6 years, and we have NEVER had evidence of bed bugs here, including your recent claim. I took the room out of service after learning of your problem, and our pest control service arrived yesterday afternoon. He found nothing, and then treated the room as a precaution. I...
