After a great stay last year at this enchanting historic hotel We were so looking forward to our stay this year. We are well traveled people who have stayed in all types of lodging, we are very easy to please. We look for comfort, cleanliness and safety. We found all three of

Curious821410 - In all fairness, on one of the days during your stay, Housekeeping was told by one of your party that there was a need for towels, but no other service was needed; and one other day, one of the beds had not been used, one had personal items on it so was not made up and the third bed was changed and made up. Regarding your guests, I am surprised that they felt the desk was rude; if a visitor has not been noted by the guest at the desk, room numbers are never given out. We merely suggest that the visitor contact you via your cell phone. This is an industry wide safety precaution. We did check the heat issue. The radiators in the auxiliary bedrooms were functioning perfectly. The radiator in the main room was not heating properly (this is a 120 year old building and sometimes things do go wrong), however there is a electric fireplace as an additional heat source in that room. If there was a problem operating this, we would gladly have assisted. We are within the confines of a National Forest, and occasionally a bug will hitchhike into the building. I did mention this to our Housekeeper. Also, I spoke with the bar staff, and was told that she had simply expressed regret that the kitchen was closed and that it was 5 minutes past last call. The wonderful thing about Deadwood is that our guests have many options within a short walking distance when our bar/restaurant have closed for the evening.

Deadwood Dick's is a fascinating place to stay, the staff is very nice, the hotel will surprise you, it's for sale, but kept up very nice, it's old, but that only adds more charm. The elevator in itself is quite interesting. The bed was comfortable and the towels were the

Spent three nights at this facinating hotel. The place is old but well kept and that adds to the charm. The staff here was very nice and couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. I love the old elevator, reminded me of some I had been in before. Our room was small but

On arrival we saw that the building/hotel was up for sale. Why we thought? Well the next part tells only one per cent of the story..... This was a total disaster for us. When we got to our room, it was very cold. The receptionist told us that they had a hailstone storm.....wait

Oh Dear, Ron - There is more to the story. I took you up to the room. I did not indicate that the hail storm was in June; I mentioned that due to the odd size of the window, that the glass was on a three month back order. We not only offered a free upgrade to a larger suite, but we offered to bring in additional heaters. We really made every attempt to provide a comfortable stay for you two. You kept mentioning the Irma Hotel in Cody, and I believe your expectation was that we would be a duplication of their facilities. This is comparing apples to oranges. The Irma has a bar that was gifted to Mr Cody by Queen Victoria ... we are a small vintage hotel. I'm sorry we couldn't live up to your expectations.

The old style elevator is excellant! The rooms are large and clean! This place is off the beaten path just far enough to sleep like a baby. Able to walk just across the street to get back into the main areas. The staff here are amazing and I wish all employees could love

We are two short blocks from Main Street, there are several cab companies and the city of Deadwood operates and hourly trolley. I hope this helps.

I don't know when you are arriving? We have limited parking at the hotel. Generally, if you can drop the trailer and park next to it or sometimes the trailers wil store upright? It will be difficult to park with the trailer attached depending when you are here. Mary
